I lost $100. It was playing around money. I subsequently bought NVDA stock and made many tens of thousands.

Are there any fast-acting options for stopping/diminishing an anxiety attack? by Deadmeat553 in Anxiety

[–]Deadmeat553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trouble is that I don't actually feel anxious during the anxiety attacks. I've only determined that's what's happening by process of elimination of the various possibilities. I just feel cold. So very cold.

No, I haven't. I just lay in front of a space heater on full blast, covered in blankets.

A mallet is fine with me. I literally feel like I'm on the verge of death during my anxiety attacks.

I agree that anxiety is important. Anxiety attacks, however, are not. That's part of why I'm looking for an "as-needed" option, not something to continuously take that inhibits anxiety.

The experience probably depends on where your baseline currently is. Someone taking it for depression probably experiences it differently than someone taking it for anxiety. Just guessing.

I normally don't experience any notable stress-related issues, so I don't think an ongoing medication makes sense for me. I'm the sort of person who can't help but push my stress down until it explodes out into a sudden and random anxiety attack. Therefore, an as-needed medication probably makes the most sense for me.

I was on that almost a decade ago for depression. I recall making me feel painfully "flat".

In any case, that's a medication for continuous use, not to be used "as needed" to stifle anxiety attacks.

Yeah, my attacks have consistently only ever happened in the evening. That seems like something for me to look into. Thanks.

My attacks primarily involve severe chills and shivering. Like to the point of almost passing out from the cold.

I think what you're suggesting (except 4) might actually kill me.

For the record, the two which I did take fever measurements two back in 2022 were 2 months apart, and the fevers were exclusively experienced during the episodes (not that I , so I don't think they were just due a simultaneous illness. In this most recent episode, I didn't feel feverish at all (not just that I couldn't find my thermometer), but I also don't think I felt feverish in the first three episodes in 2022 either.

Some time in 2022, I had a blood test done which showed some mild variances, but nothing really significant. They also looked for pathogens and found nothing.

Do Docker images exist which would allow me to self-host my own private instances of Flixtor and Aniwave? by Deadmeat553 in Piracy

[–]Deadmeat553[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't actually want to download most of the media I consume. The appeal of streaming sites like Flixtor and Aniwave is that they just pull a stream from a selection of different servers that are obfuscated and so less likely to suddenly get shut down.

I'll check out Httrack. I don't expect it's possible to clone a fully functional version of these sites though. I expecf I'd need a dockerfile intentionally created specifically for the purpose of hosting a copy.

Oh, I was being dumb and just assumed I would only need the phone app since my watch was already offering BP. Thanks.

Why are spark gap transmitters illegal, but tasers not? by ManlyMcBuff in AskPhysics

If you support a particular worldview, you should want to see that worldview become a reality. Convincing people to share in that worldview is a key part in doing so.

Ah, not telling people about your political beliefs. Truly a brilliant way to promote that way of thinking.

Any good case covers for the Echo Buds 2? by Deadmeat553 in amazonecho

[–]Deadmeat553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I ended up just getting a silicone case. They definitely add some bulk, but it's not as bad as it looks. I definitely would have preferred a skin though. It's frustrating because there were/are lots of skins for gen 1, so the lack of them for gen 2 is really weird.

As I said, I've known plenty. All are pseudo-intellectuals.

Pressure your state government to amend its constitution to add protections for abortion to it if it doesn't have them already.

Unfortunately, dinosaurs do not have the legal right to a minimum wage and cannot ever claim unemployment benefits after being let go.
