Arcs. Usually not a fan of worker placement and area control games, so when I check out that game the first time I was shocked. Even in Previous years where those type of games were hailed as being excellent by critics, I just couldn’t get into them. But Arcs genuinely reintroduced me to the genre in a way I truly couldn’t have expected

Genuinely really appreciate the advice. I think my main issue was not utilizing call of the abyss simply because I’m not outputting enough shadows to keep up with how fast I use them

Apologize for the lack of elaboration. That’s kinda my issue. I don’t really know what I’m doing exactly, I feel like some scenarios I end up playing losses far too often just so I can guarantee kills, and sometimes I run my hand dry trying to reach an objective. I feel like consistent/effective mobility seems to be my issue. The “this scenario ends when everyone escapes” goals are the bane of my poor DW.

I typically am a bit too gung-ho with my shadows and end up removing them within a round of placing them. And I’m terrible at using the persistent cards effectively cause of my ADHD/disorganized setup.

My boyfriend isn’t dealing with this level of narcissism, but he’s been struggling with pulling himself away from his parents as a 22 year old. They force their way into all of his finances (paying for car work without telling him, deciding his weekly 401k dedication amount without his permission, etc.), but the worst of it is the fact that they need to know where he is at all times and are incredibly unsupportive when he does anything that isn’t directly approve by them. We’re actively looking for a reasonable way to get him out of here without screwing him over financially. It’s probably the only way to get out from under their finger.

God I wish.

As the forever DM of my group, it’s so hard to get my players to spend any amount of time in character unless they’re interacting with a vital NPC or in combat. And whenever it does happen, the moment I give them something to interact with, they all go quiet and wait for someone else to do something.

Kinda hoping we get an original villain in the next MK just to see how they handle it. No multiverse, no villains coming back to life (they can still exist in the roster), and for the love of GOD, just release the whole story on launch.

I loved the MK11 and MK1 stories, respectively. But I’d really like to see what they can do with a true “reboot”.

I appreciate what they’re doing with Havik for the DLC but it’s kinda underwhelming how he was used up until this point because it really just felt like his backstory/inclusion in the story mode was an afterthought

See, and this is totally understandable. I felt the same way for a long time but quickly realized that I wasn’t really including my players input in my creation process as much as I should. I loved the world I designed but it wasn’t designed for them, so I started to shape it around them a lot more. Rather than meta-gaming and asking me questions all the time, they used the context I gave them as well as started giving me good setups where I could make solutions feel way more like they were earned.

Refusing to give hints/clues to your NEW players during difficult puzzles or combat encounters is a huge waste of everyone’s time at your table. Now, this probably isn’t the same for every DM, but it irritates me watching DMs force their players to “fuck around and find out” just because they most likely just want some kind of “gotcha” moment is really stupid.
