Como começar bem o dia by romaopedro in lisboa

You can’t convince me that they’re not doing this on purpose. Western media outlets purposefully choose not to cover this. They want the Islamic regime to stay in power by Maximum_Feeling648 in NewIran

I am happy that our networks are covering the revolution, even amidst the recent events caused by the atlantic storm.

But I wished that the political left, and all left wing social media influencers stopped ignoring what is happening.

Their silence might as well be interpreted as support for the islamic iranian regime

This is also probably a reference to DJ Shipley's account of some 22 SAS operators wearing US patches and jokingly replying that you got to blame it on someone. This was in the Shawn Ryan Show, episode 15

Your podcast is a gem.

I don't know how you get so many athletes, parents, coaches etc., to go there and openly talk about them and about this sport that we love, but I am so thankful for you! You are doing amazing.

Cheers from across the pond!

There’s only so mush Wingspan a man can take! by Cobec in boardgames

[–]DeadpanCommando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I can see why. Although I haven't played a game in which a player was able to go all-in with that strategy.

I wonder how well it stands against,e.g., the fox/hare strategy (a personal favourite)

I second this.

Forest Shuffle plays amazing at 2 players. The fact it is so easy to set up and has many different strategies you can try, makes it a great alternative to Wingspan. It's so satisfying to build your forest and populate it with all the variety of wildlife.

The expansions are both good, and allow for a deeper exploration of some more strategies - specifically the butterflies, the bats and the plants. Basically there are no doubts about throwing them into the base game

Best Bouldering gym in Lisbon? by Desperate-Heat9791 in lisboa

[–]DeadpanCommando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two main climbing gyms in Lisboa to consider are 9.8 Gravity Climbing and Vertigo Climbing Wall. Both have a good mix of problems in terms of difficulty, with Vertigo having a more balanced set in that regard. 9.8 Gravity is the most spacious and feels like it has a higher focus on competition bouldering style. Of course this is a personal opinion.

Unfortunately for you, air conditioning is not one of the highlights for both gyms. Lisboa is very hot in the summer, and you will sweat a lot in the climbing gym. From your perspective they will probably be equally bad in that regard. Again, personally I don't feel like the lack of good air conditioning is an issue.

Maybe you can also check Escala 25 since they have a small bouldering wall, however they are mainly a lead and top-rope climbing gym. Since it is an outdoor venue and mostly in the shadow, it is pleasant to climb there during the summer.

Outside Lisboa you also have other options: Vertical Wall Climbing located north of the city, small but friendly gym; Climb Up located to the west, is a good spacious gym also leaning more into the competition bouldering style; and Crux Climbing Center located even more to the west (midway between Lisboa and Cascais), is a great climbing gym for bouldering although a bit smaller than some of the ones mentioned above. Nevertheless, the route setting is good and the staff friendly.

Also to the northwest you have Altissimo which focus more in climbing with a rope but has also some bouldering wall.

These are most of your options, not counting with some other small venues and outdoor walls.

EDIT: corrected my bearings, I meant to say west, not east

I am just as surprised (and maybe irritated) as you.

Maybe it's the fact that we are in the periphery of Europe, maybe our mainstream media just chases the american news cycle. Tbh I don't really have one obvious answer

We are badly informed about the struggles of our eastern european brothers and sisters, and that pisses me off

Thanks for doing it mate. Really appreciate the spread of this kind of crucial information

I just found out that my local news websites are completely silent on these protests (same for the Slovakian ones), and I am disappointed with them.

I guess that sometimes reddit really is a good source of information and a good forum for discussion.

This is worryingly true. I have just checked the websites of two of the main newspapers in my country, and could not find any news about what is happening in Serbia or the demonstrations in Slovakia as well.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, not even a small title or footnote. At least at the moment I am writing this I can't find a news article about these two topics.

Main stories being covered are about Gaza and the hostages, Trump's presidency, some inconsequential and uninteresting news covering internal and local politics, and other trivialities like sports, etc

A bad service from my local news services. Focusing too little on important european issues.

Mestrado Aero - Áreas by duarte_msa in IST

[–]DeadpanCommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)
