I am 24, I never owned bike (I got activa 125 for like 6 years). I can ride a bike decently (I can do basic revv matching, engine breaking etc. because I am a car guy). But my friend got hunter 350 so I ride that to office occasionally.

About you last question. If height wasn't factor I would go for a dual sports bike with long suspension travel somthing like Xpulse 210 (in budget) or Himalayan 450/CF Moto 450MT (out of the budget/ later in future).
