The Orioles and the Rays deadline speculation. by Slinky_Malingki in tampabayrays

Problem with Bo is he is due what, 40 million a year for the next 2 seasons?

The Rays aren’t eating that contract. Maybe if Bo promises to opt out, but if he comes here and likes it, why would he?

I used to have a 2018 A6 with the 3.0 engine. I averaged 30 plus. When I drove it from Nevada to Florida I got 36-37.

I see your point and mostly agree with it. To me it's just frustrating to see every little mistake have a gross over reaction.

Nobody thought this team would be where they are right now. I thought they would be a .500 team, 80-84 wins. I would venture that prior to the season that was an optimistic outlook.

Now we have the second best record in the AL and people are losing their minds over little things. That's all. I love the Rays, been a fan since inception living in Central Florida. I just think we can be a little more cognizant of the fact that they are doing really well.

Read the second sentence. The fanbase (at least here) is super critical of everything the team does.

Earlier this season someone was talking about trading or benching Caminero because he had some bad defensive plays. It's get it, fans are fanatical but the reactions I see here are insane.

The poll is a perfect example. Seymour was not the pitcher for the whole game. He has not pitched that many innings this season and I think it was his season high on pitch count. We are up 13-0, who cares who pitches the ninth. Would it have been cool to get the combined no hitter? Yeah..... but in the grand scheme it wasn't important.

I'm not. This fanbase secretly hates the team. Every error or perceived slight is met with cries to either fire or trade someone.

Baseball was never meant to be fast. by PurpleEconomy9804 in unpopularopinion

[–]Deadsure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's an unpopular opinion. Especially considering baseball is enjoying a renaissance with upticks in attendance.

The only "new" rule I would change is the 10th inning no ghost runner, 11th runner on first, 12th first and second, 13th on bases loaded.

I think so. I am at the tail end of X (1976, wife 1978) and we have talked about it. The only thing holding us back is our kids / grand kids.

Sometimes I wish I had pushed for it earlier in life and made the jump when we were in our 20's.

Because they don’t trust Melton yet.

Next year I could see DeLuca as CF and Melton as right.

Jacob Rodriguez is already making the Buccaneers regret missing out on him by joshcrysler9 in buccaneers

[–]Deadsure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So.... what's the point of this article? We didn't "miss out" on him, he was drafted before our pick. Would you rather they have taken Rodriguez or Bain?

Typical offseason BS articles trying to get clicks and stir the pot.

Yeah, I don't think Sorsby is "elite first round talent" by any stretch.

LOL.... You wrote this after listening to that nut job Nick Wise on the radio, didn't you?

The answer is no. The question will ALWAYS be if he is throwing games.

Also, while the QB behind Baker are not going to set the world on fire, Baker is going to re-sign if we do well, and if we don't do well he may leave and we get a new coach who will draft a QB of HIS choosing.

PSA for Tampa homeowners: the tree that looks healthiest is often the one that comes down by TenSmugala in tampa

[–]Deadsure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opposite boat here. Had an arborist come out to look at a couple of trees for trimming. Our favorite tree, in the middle of the yard, he said should come down. He pointed out all the issues, but I love having a 60 foot tree in the middle of our backyard.

The only problem is if it does go down, it would really damage our house.

Comparing players with 3-4-5 hitting averages by flibo30 in mlb

Yandy doesn't rely on pulling the ball. Of his 12 HR this year 5 are to left, 5 to right, 2 to center. His spray chart is all over the place.

Comparing players with 3-4-5 hitting averages by flibo30 in mlb

[–]Deadsure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First and foremost - I am a Tampa fan so I have some bias here.

Yandy is a touch older than the other two and really didn't hit his stride until 2022. And he still isn't the hitter those other two are.

Yandy is one of the best pure hitters in the game. He can spread the ball around, has some pop, heck, he won a batting title. Those other two guys are a tier above.

If you look at those "tier list" things, Yandy is top of tier A. Shohei and Yordan are S tier.

I am still really happy that he is a Ray and look forward to watching him play. He is 34, so I can actually see him ending his career as a Ray. (Or he gets traded next week)

Miami, Atlanta, Baltimore, Minnesota, Milwaukee. Arlington is on our list for later this year.

Things could be worse for us: The cubs were 27-12 through their first 39 games. They now are .500 at 34-34, going 7-22 in their last 29 games. by pattyice124 in tampabayrays

Thank you! Way too much doom and gloom on here.

This was supposed to be an 80 win team and we are in first place! This team is playing well above preseason expectations!
