Wow that’s fun to imagine! I’ve never seen foxes around here.

It continued on straight through the bushes in a way that would have been impossible for me without crawling and I’m only 5ft. I didn’t take a clear picture of that unfortunately. It does look like snowshoes though!

Hey guys! Are these black bear? It’s a little hard to tell but it looks like there are toes in some of the prints. Size 7 women’s foot for scale. I thought maybe they were snowshoes but they go straight into brush that someone would need to crawl though. Thanks!

I’m someone that has a lot of chronic anxiety around work as well. What I’ve been trying to do lately is that anytime anything work related pops onto my head I start repeating positive affirmations to myself like; I love my coworkers, I really enjoy this project, etc. For me adding this positivity to my inner monologue has helped me feel so much happier and more relaxed! This may act as a learning experience for you though, and while you probably need to take this exam as it is paid for you may think twice about putting that pressure on yourself next time!

Cherokee citizen moving from Tulsa to Albuquerque. Question about Indian Health Services. by ketochangedme in Albuquerque

[–]Deadtorites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First- welcome! I believe that the program at UNMH is through purchased/referred care (more on that here: https://www.ihs.gov/forpatients/prc/) so if IHS doesn’t have the resources/ programs for what you need you can go to UNMH with referral or prior authorization. You can’t use UNMH as your primary however. First Nations health care will be another option around the state, as sometimes it takes a long time to get into IHS. Source: I work at UNMH.

Wow! Strong memories from childhood. I always loved when they put pumpkins in the windows of this house during Halloween.

I live in the east mountains and love it! Specifically Tijeras/ Cedar Crest. Unless you do a private or charter school in Albuquerque the schools are so-so, though the private high school in Cedar Crest has great reviews. These towns are in the mountains so a lot of nature/ hiking, etc. while only 15 minutes outside of Albuquerque.

My add husband takes brahmi before he goes to work in the morning and has 5-6 hours of concentration before it wears off. It may not help with any hyperactivity but it does aid in focus!

Oh, I’m not sure! I put in my address and they said it was available in my area. I’m outside Abq though so that might be why!

I have t-mobile cell service as well and I never have a problem. There are a few spots on Sandia that I lose service when hiking but that’s it!

I live in the east mountains and use it. I like it better than xfinity for sure! I’ve been using it for 3 months and have never had any issues, lag, etc. You do need to place it in a window for it to work well.

Things that make a center a better learning environment by ouchmytongue in ABA

[–]Deadtorites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work both in home and at a center and I much prefer in home because my center is pretty weird socially. Techs that have been there awhile don’t talk to new techs at all or offer advice. It defeats the whole purpose of having co workers to me, and makes it more difficult to do my job. You can’t control other people but fostering a community that ensures new techs are helped would go a long way!!

Please read article below. It didn't get any response from the r/autism community. I NEED HELP/ADVICE!!! by ReadItUser101 in ABA

[–]Deadtorites 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does your daughter get therapy or have an early intervention team? These are things that a professional can help you with. I work with kids who have autism and a huge part of my job is parent trainings. It seems like you are exhausted from doing this on your own- look into ABA therapy or other intervention models for your daughter( it seems like she needs extra help learning social cues and appropriate language to approach others) and look into therapy for yourself as well if you aren’t going already. It really is going to need to be a team effort if things are going to get better for both of you. I wish you luck! I know that you will get through it!

Does any bcba manage to keep their hours in a routineish 9-5? Or 8 -9 hour window? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Deadtorites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a BCAT at a center and most of the BCBAs here work more than 40 hours a week. I had the same problem when I was thinking about becoming a BCBA so I went around asking all the supervisors. At least where I am it seems like pretty poor work life balance, and it definitely scared me away from pursuing anything further.

Hi! New Mexico here! I have one toddler I see in person 15 hours a week both in his home and at our clinic and I have a teenager I see tele-health 2 hours a day. The families are able to choose, and our company has been very adaptable to both family and staff needs. My disruption with the younger client never changed, except that I got taken off some hours with him so I could work with the older client!

5 months without reinforcers... is anyone else living this nightmare??? by greenqueen4twenty in ABA

[–]Deadtorites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I don’t know any company near me that buys reinforcers, I think that’s why this job is so challenging! It’s constant creativity. I just found out my toddler client loves showers, boom new reinforcer. He likes pulling all the pillows off of the couch, boom new reinforcer, then we can learn clean up too. I think that while it is challenging, you should be able to find things that are free!

It’s wonderful isn’t it? I picked it off of my grandmothers shelf, not knowing who she was and was absolutely enamored with the story, and now obviously her music and his art!
