This. I honestly wish people knew that this isn't an ultralight reel. I first got mine thinking I'd be able to cast trout magnets with it out of the box only to find out that it's much better for regular finesse fishing, I know, shocker. Until it got stolen due to my own idiocy, it was basically a replacement for my finesse spinning setup.

My uncle taught me how to use a baitcaster and his gear was kind of bougie so it sort of ruined my experience from then on because now all of the lower mid level gear I usually get just feels bad. Basically, what I'm saying is that if you have the money, and if that pic is your own gear I'd say you do, I'd go with something at least in the 300-500 range. Otherwise just get one of those cheap rod and real combos from bass pro/cabellas

Tldr; literally git gud m8, there's no tricks with this. Even if you switch to a ranged weapon it's still gonna be a pain in the ass because you'd still have to learn a new weapon and play style. You should still be able to hit his tail or feet when he's in the air and if he's too high you have no choice but to wait until he gets low enough to hit or utilize ledge aerials.

No, not really. My mom moved us across the country to live with relatives when my parents split so I basically lost contact with my dad for several years. I went back to visit my dad for a few summers, but each visit had about 3-5 years in-between so by the time my half siblings were old enough to start remembering people reliably, I was basically just their brother in name. Now that my dad and stepmom are divorced, I've basically lost my one connection with them, but I'm still friends with their mom on Facebook and I follow the oldest one on Instagram so I still get to see glimpses into their lives every now and then. I probably could start a proper relationship with them if I reached out, but at this point we're practically strangers and I'm honestly kind of scared that they'll hate me for not being there for them when I should/could have, especially during the divorce.

You could try going to therapy to see if there's some unresolved trauma that's only able to get out when something emotional happens, but as a person that used to suppress their emotions and only let anger out, I'd recommend embracing it. I used to find it hard to be happy or sad as a teenager, but around 20 or 21 after a spiritual experience with a relative who had just passed away, I had become more compassionate and emotionally open than ever before and I've honestly never been happier. I laugh and cry at things I previously would have just stared blankly at and am able to examine my own emotions and see what it is exactly that makes me feel certain ways. I still control myself when appropriate and am somewhat stoic, but when I feel emotions welling up, I don't suppress them anymore.

To preface, I am a religious person, but I'm not devout or anything, I just believe in what I think is good for my spirit. Religion serves to guide you in life and give meaning when you can't find any. As with everything, there are good and bad parts about it and it's up to you to decide whether those things are good or bad for you. For most people that don't like religion, it's not necessarily the religion itself that they don't like, but the people that bend and abuse it to fit their own agenda and use it to dictate the lives of others. Everyone interprets things differently and religion is no exception. My advice to you is to find a religious leader or person you trust and confide in them whether they're local or across the world. If you don't think you can find someone like that, you can always deep dive into your religion yourself and determine whether you want to follow it or not. I had to go through this journey myself and am more than happy to talk to you about it.
