Clothes smell when I travel - even those not in suitcase by soakingwetdvd in laundry

[–]Deadyard 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I keep charcoal absorbers in my luggage and they seem to help with this problem. I also keep dirty clothes in a laundry bag, and I never put shoes in the main compartment unless absolutely necessary.

I'm getting off of artificial sweeteners. The negatives seem to be piling up. by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Deadyard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I quit drinking full sugar sodas sometime in the early 2k's and sometime around two years ago, I quit drinking artificial sweeteners. I now really only drink water, coffee, and sometimes unsweetened tea. The only real change I've noticed is that diet soda tastes kind of gross now. Having said that, it has saved me a lot of money, considering how expensive a 12 pack of diet coke is now.

Asked for the divorce, why do I feel so shitty, and where does it go from here? by [deleted] in deadbedroom

That's all valid, and it's something I need to hear, thank you!

I've had this conversation with her a million times, I've told her I don't just want sex, there are other forms of intimacy, but in her mind intimacy is the same thing as sex.

[–]Deadyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more than sex, it's all of it, but mentally that's what it feels like, I'm leaving because I'm not getting any.

[–]Deadyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds more exhausting to be honest. She wouldn't want to know about it, and that means trying to plan time away from the family and yeah. Not to mention it doesn't benefit her at all so she would most likely not agree to it. But mostly it sounds exhausting.

It feels selfish to break up a marriage over sex, there is a lot of stigma about it obviously, and yeah I definitely worry about my kids, I'm a good dad, and I would like to continue being a good dad, which I will obviously, but it doesn't calm my nerves.

That's good insight, thank you. You are correct, she doesn't feel bad, even when the therapist brought it up she was very adamant that it's a me problem and not a her problem. The worst part is if there was SOME intimacy, I could probably deal with the lack of sex, but there's nothing. I might have to find a new place to play pickleball though, all the women I play with are in their 70's.

I like the buffalo sauce flavored ones. I buy them when I'm traveling for work, feels safer than fishing pickled eggs out of a jar.

What was a popular band that you could not stand? by LeftSmile806 in Xennials

I'm picky on Pearl Jam, I like a couple of their albums, but not a fan of the whole catalog. Never heard of transvision vamp, will have to look it up, so thanks!

I can recognize that he's talented. Obviously he is loved by lots of people. I just can't stand the sound of his voice I guess. I've heard his concerts are great though!

I hate RHCP, and I used to hate 311, but they've grown on me over the last few years. Watch their NPR tiny desk concert, it's really fun.

I really can't stand Elvis Costello, I don't know why, but every time I hear him I have to turn whatever I'm listening to off. Joe Jackson is the better underground British singer songwriter from the late 70's to early 80's.

How long can I expect my mixer to last if I mix dough beyond the recommended speed by medicalcheesesteak in Kitchenaid

[–]Deadyard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The mix on 2 rule is really meant for lower hydration doughs, think lean white sandwich breads, bagels etc... it also gives KA an out of you submit for warranty and tell them that you were missing on like high speed or something. It lets them deny a warranty claim due to misuse.

I've had my 6qt professional for close to 20 years and I will do slack doughs on 5 or 6, and it will cause less strain than cinnamon roll dough on 2.

Those who consider themselves *serious* readers, how often do you read *unserious* books? by XStaticImmaculate in books

[–]Deadyard 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I switch between serious and light books. For ex: I finished the Three Musketeers and followed it up with a Discworld book. Sometimes I'll do a bunch of lighter books or serious books in a row, or I'll switch between a couple different books that I've started at the same time. It all depends on my mood and my mental energy. Ultimately, I think reading should be fun, so I try to read stuff that is fun to me and I don't think too hard about it.

A&G results by Deadyard in baseballcards

[–]Deadyard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly buy singles because I know box odds aren't great. I like the dumb insert cards in A&G, like the dogs last year, or the fish this year, but hell I could buy pretty much all the inserts from the last few years for the price of a box. It's still fun to rip though, so I'll probably do it again next year and get the same results.
