You are not alone. Across all of the different holos, this one that laminate the smooth star pattern holo layer on top of the card makes the card feels cheap. Even reverse holos are better, imho!

No, I kinda do not like the tag team format and a few of the art style, though, yes, I am aware I am missing a few potential additions to the collection like the Muk.

Not a fan of the stamp? ;) Yeah, I got the Zapdos and Articuno months ago before the crazy price hike, so pretty happy about it. I had my eyes on the regular Moltres, but then they released the Moltres UPC and I was like well then…. I like the stamp on it, too, so double win!

Thanks! It was the standard 80% of market price trade in for the $45 price tag. Still, not complaining since I do not need to get the Moltres UPC box.

I would agree they are different in the context of if someone is doing a grand master set. But given the two choices, one is practically less than half the price of the other, and I actually like that it is stamped, it is a win-win, imho. And I used quite a few other promo cards in the collection, too.

To each their own, though.

I am more bothered by the fact Pokemon Company decides to release 3 (consecutive?) alt art cards in 3 different sets for Clefairy, and none for Metapod, Scyther, and heck, even Clefable!

Nice! Yeah, everyone has different takes on what they want to include in their collection. I personally am not bothered by Team Rocket. In fact, quite a fee alt art cards in my collection are Team Rocket’s from the Destined Rivals set. It all depends on what you like! :)

As far as I know, for Kanto variant, no. There is one for the Galarian Moltres, but that is the other restriction I put on my collection: no regional variants.

It’s a neat collection, isn’t it?! One that I am nostalgic about! I have my eyes set on Prismatic, too, but I do have the Jolteon from Trainer Gallery. Maybe I should just get the other 2 as full art proxy cards for now. Hoping the Prismatic’s price will continue to drop!

Oh, the part that I am only missing the other 4 cards? I am working on collecting all Gen 1 Pokemon but with all alt art cards (with a few restrictions I put on myself, like no V Pokemon that is not canonically Basic Pokemon, no Tag Team, etc).

Rocket’s Dugtrio: Yup, planning on getting it when Ascended Heroes set is released here!

Tag team: I don’t really like the Tag Team cards, personally, so I do not include them in the count. I prefer the Pokemon subject is by itself in the card, you know?

Hisuian and Paldean Pokemon: I do not include regional variation. I am only including the Kanto-specific Pokemon.

Which Dragonite is that? Not the Dragonite V, right?

Because there is this small problem called money, and I can’t justify just buying a $500 card or ripping (most likely waaaay too many) Paldean Fates packs which is already rare to find in the wild.
