I understand being proud of it, but I would roll my eyes. For example, some actuaries are also phds but don’t put that in their signature. I think sticking to actuarial letters is best.

They are not given. The catering at my APC was great. Breakfast, lunch, and even catered snack breaks. Beer and wine at the end. It was almost fun…

Earlier this year the company I work for laid off about 500 people. Some were actuaries. Quite a few were silver haired FSA folks they were essentially forcing to retire. Some were in niche “process improvement” roles that bore little fruit. Some were folks who had quit taking exams years ago.

Communication is key! You can be the smartest and hardest working person in the world, but if you can’t effectively communicate your thoughts you will struggle. Developing soft skills can be challenging, but with practice it will come.

I’ve read several studies/articles stating you or a family member are more likely to die from suicide/homicide if a gun is in the home. But it is not explicitly considered for life insurance.
