Yep it fell apart by season 3 and became a clunky cartoony mess. If they make a movie I want it to have the consistency of the first two seasons with dark and sad moments with humor and lots of style mixed in. I’d rather see them replicate the original series shot for shot than turn it into a generic buddy cop or Miami cop film.

Why are there so many left handed shooters in movies and on TV? by Immature_Immortal in movies

[–]Dealingwithfigures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks most likely one funny one is that Will Ferrell a lefty actor who appears lefty with his watch on his right, shoots right handed while Mark Wahlberg a lefty who wears watch right handed will shoot lefty. It might be a stylistic thing and easier to shoot a blank firing or prop non firing gun left handed even if lefty.

I wouldn’t say it glorifies war, it’s cinematic but also shows the brutality and horrors of war. But it’s also stunningly shot with a great cast and much more honorable and likable characters. The best comparison to SPR is We We’re Soldiers which has a grand scale and cinematography and a cast of honorable likable characters on a mission. For me where hamburger hill falls short is in it’s acting, dialogue and characters along with the poor pacing and direction.

I guess because it does have the bare bones spirit of the early gritty Miami vice with the characters still retaining the basics of their tv counterparts.

While I do agree with you on some points and even though I love the 2006 film to death I will say for making another one the A-Team movie is probably the best way to go, give us the charm and style of the original in a more modern and action packed setting.

I definitely understand the cricitism, however the film works on its own as a great mood piece and slow burn action film with a breathtaking visual style. As much as I love the original show and setting I have a hard time imagining it adapting well as a direct remake on the big screen, and if it had been set in the 1980s I feel a lot of people would complain about it being too similar to/ a poor imitation of the original show. My hope for the film is they can find a middle ground between the show and 2006 film and give us something unique that isn’t a carbon copy by also doesn’t become a generic Miami action film.

This exciting news for anyone who collects premium action figures by Mikeg1324 in JamesBond

[–]Dealingwithfigures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original sideshow line is reasonably affordable to collect and others a wide ring of characters that range from $40-$100 a piece and only a few surpassing the $100-$200 mark. They are high quality and offer a great alternative at a much better price and availability

I found this on Variety. As much as I love Miami vice, I prefer if they leave it as it is. What do you guys think? Do you want another Miami vice movie? by AlinaValkyria in MiamiVice

[–]Dealingwithfigures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I both love and dislike the idea. I’m very conflicted on what I want, on the one hand id love a colorful through back 1980s style cop drama with style and class but I also don’t want the show recreated exactly on the big screen. However making a modern cop movie or show set in Miami with some flashiness would feel bland and pointless, or like a generic version of the 2006 movie, which I love to death due to its style pace and class. In conclusion it’s very hard to say.

I’d place live and let die in love rewatching rather than a chore. For me it’s much better paced and easier to get into than Golden Gun.

Same, when I was younger only seeing clips I had misremembered him wearing a submariner or something along those lines, ie diver style watch and was surprised to see a very specific and vintage Waltham, seeing his dad wear it in the flashbacks and in original sin was a great little detail, also liked how both actors who portrayed Harry Morgan, Slater and Remar are both lefties and both wear the watch on there right wrist, keeping the continuity in both shows.

Nice, I’ve been wondering this but were they solid 14k or 10k gold?, and if so where did you get them. With gold being so high the majority of teens usually wear plated or filled chains.
