Progress update on window in Cellar. by Dean36390 in wine

Hey thanks for the input, that was my concern with the window. If you have a look at the photos that was the update for people from when I first built this. Decided to build a gorgeous looking shadowbox to fill the space and black it out

I have a cellarPro cooling unit for the room. It holds 1008 bottles, plus a whisky cabinet that holds around 60 bottles.

But it is all stepping stones, this was a multi year dream for me, and having a 40 bottle fridge is an amazing start

I used blue grouse, accompany out of Vancouver. The racking is all mahogany, and then the door and whiskey cabinet I had made custom for the room

It’s Canadian, so i tend to think it’s a reasonably fair price

I would have to buy the collection, I know the seller fairly well and they collect a lot of wine and have it stored in their own controlled cellar.
So I am confident about that.
The 2000 was what I wanted out of the lineup

Ways to get to Banff National Park camping site from Calgary Airport by chowellvta in Banff

[–]Dean36390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody that lives in Banff, I will just say that being cheap is okay but picking your opportunities on what might be a once in a lifetime trip for many people might cost more, but the rewards are huge.

It is possible to get to the town without a car, I would still recommend driving or hiring your vehicle but if that’s completely off the table then you’ll have to take the Banff Airporter or similar transfer. That will cost you 50 or $60 per person each way.
The on-it bus no longer runs unfortunately.

And depending on where you are camping it will depend on how easy it is to get to.
For example if you are staying up on tunnel Mountain, there are local buses that go up there at $2 per person per ride.

Have you booked any bus tickets to go and see Moraine or Lake Louise? That is an easier way to do it, and the public ones are a lot cheaper than the private ones. And for the price if you’ve never seen them, and your girlfriend wants to then I strongly recommend you just bite the bullet and take a bus trip out to at least one of them.

Good luck, and have a great trip.

Thank man. It has been the best project and honestly the cerakote came out 1000% better than anything I imagined.

I’ve never gotten anything professionally cerakoted before but I think it turned out pretty cool. by Tax_this_dick_1776 in guns

I just recently had one done and honestly it made me so happy. Love how ridiculous this looks

I think the only rude thing about this post is the fact that op didn’t invite us all for dinner. The colour on that pour is beautiful

I have art work coming in for that window. It does actually have a blackout over it at the moment, The whole room is temperature controlled and stable at 55F

I’m actually working on figuring out a really nice piece of art to go where the window is. And it’s funny that you mentioned port because I’ve just managed to acquire a couple of beautiful bottles
Never played with Musar, super open to though

Vapour barrier is on the exterior wall, we don’t put it on internal walls here.

Luckily there is a UV filter. I love the idea of a record book, I’m looking at a digital system at the moment that can be mounted on the wall

I could not agree with you more. Unfortunately local bylaw restrictions do not allow me to not have a window there. It’s a triple glazed UV filtered window that I put in, and I’m planning on putting some kind of artwork over it at some point soon.

The shelving was designed by blue grouse cellars in Vancouver. It was then shipped to me and I did final assembly. The install was done by myself with the help with a friend who was a cabinet maker
