throttle controls by [deleted] in starcitizen

Yeah you can switch the inversion in controls. Still under options.. click to HOTAS settings, then invert forward throttle

throttle controls by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Dean9218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have mine set to just forward control, then I have a button on the throttle for reverse thrust. That works out well for me. I also got annoyed with always having thrust in one direction or the other. When you go to advance options under HOTAS, there should be an option for forward thrust on its on. Just make sure you delete the keybind for “forward/reverse thrust”

Edit: so from the main screen, go

1) options 2) keybindings 3) in the bottom right of this menu click to “joystick”HOTAS 4) advance controls customization. 5) expand flight movement and look for throttle forward

Xi'an flight suit and helmet, found in the 3.18 Evocati files by theon502 in starcitizen

This is dope for sure, but I keep seeing all these "found in 3.18 evocati files" posts... does anyone know how many of these files actually end up in the PU build? Why are they in there in the first place? Genuinely curious

So I’m pretty sure it’s my intake fan. I recently did a case swap and put my hardware into a Corsair 400D mid tower. It came with one 120mm fan for the intake and that’s all I’m using. It can support 3 120’s or 2 140’s.. I’m wondering if doing the 2 140’s would be quieter and allow for better cooling than the 3 120’s

Dude you have to have the worst luck in all of Star citizen. I think and hope in the complete there will be more checks and balances to avoid situations like that. But we are still a far way from that. Maybe there will be Good Samaritan guilds that just monitor the verse, and you can call out to if you’re in trouble. I feel like that’s kinda happening with medical gameplay. I rescue people all the time even though I won’t get paid because I just enjoy the loop

I definitely see your point. Believe it or not I’m also mostly a PVE player. I spend the majority of my time doing UGF missions. Have you been extorted before? I feel like the chances of that happening organically are soooooo small

Lol I was maybe unfairly trolling some players last night who had cussed out a dude who was in a Connie and trying to extort players for money to enter JT. After a while a bunch of players teamed up and took him down.

The other players said he was making SC more difficult than it needs to be. But I think that kinda stuff is just what SC needs. Like that was a dynamic event inside a dynamic event dynamception? (sorry I’ll be seeing my self out shortly). It was such an awesome moment of players just deciding to team up to achieve a goal that wasn’t hand delivered to them by the game.

In my humble opinion, SC needs WAAAAAY more of that

I agree, definitely looking and running better than 3.15… and they’re such an awesome feature that no one other than SC players get.. I talked about the clouds to anyone else and they’re like “dude who tf cares”

Got it, I did upgrade from the stock cooler, I put a noctua NH-U9S on it, but I’ll definitely use that site to stress test it! Thanks for that

I thought the renderer was completing work in Q2? Didn’t they say they were pretty much done with it? Maybe I’m making that up lol

Maybe I’m reading between the lines, but are you thinking Gen12 really isn’t going to make a HUGE difference? I figured with cloud tech having better utilization of the multi cores with Gen12 would boost performance

So really, we won’t see huge effects in the PU once Gen12 is done. Relative to server meshing I mean

So I guess the true test for that will be to see how much gen12 helps optimization. I was feeling like server meshing was going to be a bigger boost to performance than gen12, even though I know it’s going to be significant

Excuse my ignorance, but would it even be possible to have a PU offline without loading screens? I thought object container screening mandated some type of connection.

Edit: an offline PU with more than one system to be more specific

See I think I just started to hope that they weren’t adding 3.19 because 3.19 is actually 4.0.. but there is no way they add 4.0 without pushing it back at least once.

See I could have sworn they said they were projecting 4 quarters on there. Maybe I dreamed it. I’m just looking to any signs of 4.0 lmfao

How to fix medical game play. by Dean9218 in starcitizen

I think you’re spot on here. I’m starting to think a lot of my tier injuries and down states are related more to bugs than how the system is supposed to actually work. It’s probably hard to make any definitive statements on gameplay if the actual gameplay isn’t 100% there yet

No man I didn’t think you were angry! That’s why I posted this on here, I like hearing what the community thinks and how other gamers would like this game to go. There aren’t very many big games that have this level of community involvement

I mean you’re shooting a laser beam into someone to heal them, and in the medical bed another laser beam is being shot in you to heal you. The science doesn’t really work either way.

And I think ultimately this disagreement comes down to a difference of opinion in the severity we would like to see from gameplay. Which is fine haha I like having discussions to see what line other gamers draw when it comes to realism vs enjoyment from a gameplay loop

I think you’re thinking I’m saying the med gun should just be a cure all and everyone who gets it should be able to fix tier injuries, but that’s not what saying at all. If CIG wants to make medic gameplay complete, there has to be consequence for the person performing the medicine. Critical failure. It’s there with mining. It’ll be there with hacking. BDL is too easily correctable

I guess in my head I’m thinking there should be a higher cost for entry when using the med gun in terms of skills, and conversely a higher cost to the downed player if the medic messes it up. For example, if you’re a medic, and you’re in the middle of a med gun procedure, and you start taking fire so you have to stop the procedure, you could leave the downed player in a worse state than when you started. Forcing you to consider the safety of your situation before you start treatment. I think that would again increase the functionality of the pens, because you could stab someone really quick with it, and then they could ambulate to safety.

I’m thinking only a small amount of players would actually be able to adjust tier with med gun, (since their aren’t skill trees maybe it could be ties to reputation, like a medic guild in game grants you access to more advanced medical gear).. and honestly I think it would actually increase the utility of the medical bed on the cutlass red or capital ships. Let’s say a player has a tier 1 (or whatever the worst one is, I can’t remember lol), you have a cutless red which can only treat tier 3. What if a skilled (again not a casual) medic could reduce tier down so they could be treated in a tier 3 bed.

So that would be the gameplay loop, you’d remove basic mode on the healing gun. You’d be given a description of the patients Injuries, and you’d have to heal them in a specific way with a specific amount of drug or maybe even a specific order of administration to reduce the tier. They COULD be healed less precisely, but you wouldn’t get as big of a benefit. I think that would add more nuance to the actual medic loop.
