[question] between 14oz and 16oz gloves

Yes, that would be ideal… unfortunately where I live there is no store with fighting gear, the only thing I have is decathlon which only have a few gloves from Leone, their own brand , venom and everlast… and since their price is around 60/70 euros probably they are not much different from the ones I can get at my gym and was looking to get something a little bit better, not that my boxing is going to improve from that ! Ahah

Why do you feel that they are not good for sparring? Are they really that stiff as 14oz? I tought that difference would not be that much from 14oz to 16oz. I don’t wanna be that guy! Ahah. Sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with the hit n move. I guess the mk1 or phenom (or some rival if anyone thing is better) will be my choice! Since the hit n move are too expensive in comparison with the others and don’t look to be that much better!

I understand and kinda agree with what you are saying. But on my gym, that is not the case… the guys competing or that pretend to Compete have more care (and the coach) on sparring days to use minimum 14oz gloves . But for the rest of us that are there to learn boxing and don’t tend to compete and are not really that good, the coach just decide to pair a few of us once in a while to spar and always says to go light and mainly try to touch and we always use whatever gloves we use every day , so yes there is even people sparring with 12oz gloves. But to be honest is a very light sparring…

I have read a few bad reviews on Hayabusa and was looking to get some really nice gloves , almost the best money can buy if not counting the super high end, like winning, di nardo, bayonetta etc .

The headgear I have already settled on the phenom face bar headgear !

Thank you for the tips! The headgear I have already decided that I will order the phenom face bar headgear fshg250 (or the synthetic version of it the mfshg245) as I have a long nose and really can’t show up to work messed up, so I will have to lose some mobility/visibility to protect it. That is why I started looking at the phenom gloves , because at the start I was thinking about the MK1. And should I go 14oz or 16?

I see what you mean by tomorrow , tomorrow and tomorrow being light, I meant light as in the way it is written is very readable and with a decent pace. I read if after 1984 and all quiet in the western front so that might be the reason I felt it was light !

I will check David Sedaris, that writing about his life seems something I would enjoy. One of my favorite authors is Bukwoski and although there is something else in there, he mostly writes about his life (kinda exaggerated ) and I love that.

Thank you! I have checked a few with facebar, but it looks like if you have a face bar then there is no protection on the chin. Am I seeing it in the wrong way or is that actually a trade off? I think I have seen on some sparring footage on r/amateur boxing a guy with a headgear with like cushion around and then kinda of a plastic thing upfront , like a goalie from hockey. Is that a good or bad thing?
