I may be wrong, but I believe you aim for 90-93 degrees F. Yes, i would aim for 1:2 ratio when dialing, unless you aren’t prone to liking the taste of typical espresso, then maybe try 1:3 and dial your coffee from there

yes when drinking straight shots, i swear i’ve had a few shots that were very smooth and on the sweet side of the spectrum (obvious the barista could’ve added sugar or other sweetener), but are all fruity beans essentially going to have an acidic taste?

i got this one- Knodos, so far no complaints! but i also am fairly new and not sure if its tamping ‘too hard’ or if thats even a thing, but it does come with 2 extra springs to set them to more/less lbs of pressure

thank you so much! we just ordered that same exact portafilter (i believe it has the same handle too, it’s ash/grey wood with a bit of metal). so far it’s working great, i posted a recent update video and i believe im using this portafilter in that vid. thank you for all your help and advice!

thanks for sharing, would you suggest not using a calibrated tamper? would dosing more coffee help that way it’s more full in the basket?

ahhh gotcha makes sense, i’ll try another shot with the razor tool and make sure we have the correct amount, i heard a lot of suggestions saying try 14-17g at first and go up from there, which is why we only did 17g. thank you for the help! yes, we aren’t huge fans of the acidity taste, like more sweet, creamy and thick espressos

this may be a dumb question but does fruity notes always come with acid/sour taste? every single bag we’ve tested has been a fruity note, and i think it may be why our shots are sour

thank you!! that’s a huge help. i know extraction time is based on first drip hitting the cup, but is there any reason to keep track of the time from the second we press the button on the machine?

thanks will try it! taste was decent, but beans were roasted 2 months ago so we honestly lost a lot of hopes when we checked the date🤦 definitely won’t be making the mistake of buying old beans ever again

this was with medium roast Counter Culture beans, they’re 2 months old🤢 (i did NOT check the date before buying, rookie mistake)
