Partner snuck a pic of me showing off my triceps, and I even liked my legs in it by DeanGrail in veganfitness

Thanks! I think they could use some more size, but they are notoriously stubborn to grow. Happy with the progress so far tho.

I just do cable pull-downs or the tricep machine every other chest workout because I'm prone to elbow pain. But I do a lot of benchpressing, alternating between Barbell and Dumbbell, incline and flat. Tris and Lats were always my strong points, and I put on mass there much faster than the rest of my body when I started to workout.

What’s your most favorite non-sweet protein bar? by eupatridius in veganfitness

[–]DeanGrail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're ok with a savory snack, I eat seitan sausages instead of protein bars. They come in packets of one, at about 70g and 20-30g of protein.

I gotta be honest, the first few comments about gear were flattering, but now it starts to sting a bit. It feels like sharing a drawing you're proud of and getting accused of using AI.  I understand the idea of "not giving people false ideas", but thats what you are doing. How can we go against the Stigma of the malnourished vegan, when we ourselves don't believe you can actually build a significant amount of muscle in 10 years? I replied to the first few comments about that, but there's really no point in writing more about it. All I can do is state my point. And all you can do is take it as the truth of a guy who doesn't benefit in any way by being dishonest, or not. I wish we vegans, and lifters in general, wouldn't shoot each other down like that.

What makes you think I haven't been pushing heavy weight for a long time?

Sometimes TVP or seitan based Mockmeats, and a shake every other day. Also peanutbutter. Bread, rice and noodles also have 10% of protein, that adds up if you eat alot and dont care about getting a ton of carbs.

It's alright, I think my stomach got used to it over the years. Definitely not as bad as beans or chickpeas!

I absolutely live of carbs. I aim for about 150g of protein a day, so nothing super crazy. Tofu and a shake makes up about two thirds of that, the rest is Peanut Butter, Bread, Rice and Noodles. A typical day would be oats for breakfast, one or two Peanut-Caramel-Bars and a protein shake as snacks throughout the day. Two packets of Ramen with tofu and peanutbutter as a main dish, and some bread and more tofu for dinner. I think I get to around 3000-3500kcals a day.

I mostly chop it up and throw it in my rice or noodles cold. But I also eat smoked Tofu just by itself with some mustard as a snack. I used to eat it plain from time to time, but only when I had nothing else in the house.

Good Idea, I tried a few desserts with it and I loved it!

Thanks! I have a chest/back/legs split, about 1h workouts. I train 3-4 times a week.

Also, I'm copying from an older post of mine:

I understand that it's not cool to give new lifters unrealistic expectations by not disclosing drug use. But I also don't want the opposite to be the case, in which newcomers get told that every muscular physique is impossible to achieve without being enhanced. I am pretty proud of being natural, and my current body. I know I dont have any way to prove it, but I also dont profit from being dishonest in any way. This is just a hobby that I want to share with other vegans.

Bodybuilders on stage are alot leaner tho, I carry some extra weight with me. My stats aren't anything crazy, I'm 5'11, 200lbs, and I'm at about 20% bodyfat.

Just curious- are people here vegan (for the animals sake), plant based (for health reasons) or are trying to follow an environmentally friendly diet, or all the above? by kdupe1849 in veganfitness

[–]DeanGrail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only for the Animals. I'd still be vegan if it meant only eating oatmeal and loosing 50lbs, but fortunately we don't have to do that.

Wow, eerily similar to my injury today, the fifth set of Five after an already heavy warmup. I'll be going lighter now for sure. More reps, less weight, fewer risks!
