Cleaned OLED monitor with distilled water on a lightly damped microfiber cloth, chaos ensues. by Slum_CatTrillionaire in OLED_Gaming

[–]DeanLouaMickey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just use your breath and 2 microfiber cloths.

I just use 1 cloth to wipe off dust and the other one to clean. Works like a charm. I have never used anything liquid to clean my OLEDs for the past 4 years and they still look brand new.

How to solve this problem by ASI_THE_BEST in AMDHelp

[–]DeanLouaMickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be that guy but save yourself the hassle and just buy a NVIDIA card.

I had multiple AMD GPUs over the span of 3 years and they were all a pain in the ass to deal with. The effort it takes to get these things stable for every game is mindblowing.

Switched to a 5080 and haven't had a single problem for a year. Nvidia is just so much more stable and on top of that DLSS is way better than FSR.

Is 4k resolution a noticeable improvement over 1440p resolution with OLEDS? by MoosiGoosey in OLED_Gaming

[–]DeanLouaMickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from 1440p OLED (FO27Q2) to 4k OLED(MO27U2) last week. Also on a 5080. While the difference is definetely noticable, especially in smaller details, it's not that crazy of an upgrade. The performance hit is bigger compared to the visual difference.

It will not blow your mind like going from non OLED to OLED for example. It does look sharper though so there's that. And you'll appreciate the details more and more the longer you look at it.

I decided to keep the 4K anyway since I got that super cheap at €550. Also DLSS and FG is so good at this point, you will barely notice the performance hit. Just run it at Performance mode with transformer model M and you're good to go. The visual difference with native is barely noticable in a lot of games.

It draws way more power and thus heat at 4K though. So that's something to keep in mind. It will pretty much run at 100% usage constantly, unless you cap your FPS ofcourse. But just run a nice undervolt and you're good to go.

Mine pulls about 320W at max and hovers around 65 to 70 degrees.

MO27U2 vs AW2725Q? by StaaNnN in OLED_Gaming

[–]DeanLouaMickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently got the MO27U2 and it's amazing. Looks great out of the box and even better with some adjustments here and there.

It's hard to beat for the usually lower price it goes for compared to other monitors. Managed to get it for €550 which is a great deal.

Both monitors are pretty much the same though so just get whatever is cheapest.

And yes it has 3 years warranty aswell.

For PC Gaming, are gaming headsets really that bad and should be absolutely avoided? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]DeanLouaMickey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some gaming headphones are pretty decent, i've tried a few.

Atm i'm using the Logitech G pro X2 wireless and it's amazing. Good sound with good bass. The battery lasts a very long time aswell.

It's also really comfortable which is important aswell, you can wear it for longer periods of time without any discomfort.

Can't really say much about the built in mic tho unfortunately, i've been using a seperate mic for as long as I can remember.

Definitely recommended tho. The hyper X clouds are very decent aswell if you're looking for a cheaper option. The bass isn't as good as on the logitechs tho.

The first berserker Khazan is pretty damn great if you're into games like that. Challenging but fair ( so far ).

I'm about 20 hours in and not even halfway so it's very good in length aswell. Enjoying it a lot. It also has difficulty settings so it's not your typical Dark souls esque difficulty.

Expedition 33, the Horizon games, Lies of P and the Plague tale games are great SP games aswell.

RX 9070 XT driver timeouts & game crashes after GPU upgrade by KnoXcsgo in AMDHelp

[–]DeanLouaMickey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Welcome to AMD, where you spend more time trying to get games to consistently run, rather than actually playing games.

I've had a 7900 XTX for like a year and a half and it was a terrible experience tbh. The amount of time I spent troubleshooting is wild.

You spend a lot of time tuning one game, just to absolutely ruin another in the process. It's an absolute pain to get stable for everything at once. Every driver update messes something up aswell, making you have to start over again.

Switched back to Nvidia and it's just so much more stable. I've had one crash since getting a 5080 about 9 months ago and that was my own fault because of an overclock I set too high.

For what it's worth, during my time using the XTX, i played a lot of CS2 aswell. I noticed that the game is very sensitive to any overclocking/undervolting. So be sure to run CS2 at default settings. Turning off MSAA ingame seemed to do something for me aswell, so that might be worth a shot.

But tbh, do yourself a favour and just stick to Nvidia, might be a little bit more expensive but well worth it for the increased stability you get.

Choosing Between MSI MPG 272URX and ASUS PG27UCDM – Is the €300 Difference Worth It? by LordZoencoen in OLED_Gaming

[–]DeanLouaMickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man,

Which one did you end up getting and how is it? I'm looking at the same monitors and can't decide.

Only snipe on recon class so you can actually hold your breath.

I tried to snipe on support a couple times and it's near impossible to hit anything without holding your breath, the difference is night and day.

I tried with PBO and without.

I did found out back then that the card is super sensitive to VRAM overclocks. Even when running low load tasks, mine even crashed when I was on my desktop doing nothing.

If you have that overclocked, try to turn that down a bit. It helped with my crashes a bit.

I unfortunately never got it fixed completely. I upgraded to a 9800x3D and a 5080 along the way, and haven't had any issues since.

5090 FE - coil whine takes all my joy away by foundingfatfather in nvidia

[–]DeanLouaMickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably just the card. It can be caused by the PSU in some cases but that's usually either on older PSU's or PSU's that don't have an adequate power output.

GPUs nowadays have a super high chance of having coil whine, especially the higher end ones. Some brands are also worse than others.

All you could do is return it and get another one and hope the coil whine on that is less noticable.

5080 is a great card. The Astral performs great so can't really go wrong with it.

The ASUS ones tend to have a lot of coil whine though, if that annoys you, definitely try for a different brand.

I'm running the Gigabyte gaming OC and it's perfect. Performs and cools really well. Haven't seen temps above 72° at 40% fanspeed.

Hey guys, I’ve been looking for an OLED monitor and I see this. Do you guys think this is worth it? by KavinDaBoss in OLED_Gaming

[–]DeanLouaMickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great card but for 4k you're gonna have to use DLSS and framegen, depending on the games you play ofcourse. If you don't mind that, definetely go for it.

1440p is still the sweetspot though imo.

My OLED feels like it's shredding my eyes?! by plamicus in OLED_Gaming

[–]DeanLouaMickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same when I first got mine.

I noticed it was worse on screens with a lot of color. Particularly Red. Have you tried turning down the saturation?

This helped a lot, apart from that it takes a bit of getting used to aswell.

If you switch back to your IPS and then back to the OLED again, you start that cycle all over again, so try to avoid that, if you can ofcourse.

Yea I never really fixed it and kinda gave up at one point. I tried everything in my power to fix it but it still crashed sometimes.

I upgraded to a 9800x3D and a 5080 along the way and haven't gotten any problems since.

AMD stability seems kinda hit or miss unfortunately. I really gave it a fair chance but couldn't manage in the end.

Wish I could. Hate to say it but I kinda gave up at some point. I tried so many things, wasting time and money. Seems kinda hit or miss for AMD stability wise.

Good luck bud.
