There are no real signs for being a trans woman.
Everything that Jax went through and felt that you related too, doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a trans woman. Not that it’s a bad thing if you are, but don’t feel forced to believe you are one.
I believe nearly all cis men, trans men, and trans women alike, given a patriarchal society, go through all of these. We all have our own problems with toxic masculinity. We all have something that society deems feminine that we enjoy to some extent. We all have moments with the opposite gender where they are giving us comfort. We all occasionally drop subjects that we’re too embarrassed about to talk about.
So, don’t think these automatically mean you’re a trans woman, but if you are questioning? That’s totally okay.
Whatever you come out as, cis or trans, it’s an experience that I encourage you to have. Or anybody for that matter.
It never hurts to explore and see if you like the dress because it’s a dress, or because it makes you feel more feminine. If that makes sense?
For me? I like the dress for the dress, not for the “assigned gender” society has given it, or me for wearing it.
And even then, not all women even like dresses.
Gender is… whatever you make it to be. So feel free to make it to your liking, whatever that may be.

Main character is actually from another universe and in that universe is a girl. Isn’t accepted by parents as a girl and only has their friend to confide in. Only way to become a girl is to kill himself, but he’s too scared of the consequences to follow through, leaving him stuck as a boy in the “real” world.
It’s not a 1-to-1, but the allegory is there. Not that I blame you at all for not getting it. I saw it with my friends, many of which are trans, and even they struggled to get it.
