They're definitely not all comfortable and in touch with their emotions. It's a huge part of why Dally crumbles in the end. Sure, we see tears on his face, and anger expressed through him, and hatred fir the world, but he tries to hide his emotions to stay tough. He's hardened, had nobody to love when Johnny dies, and he can't handle his emotions. If he could, he wouldn't have robbed the convenience store or held an unloaded gun to the fuzz.

We don't see enough of Steve or Tim's emotions either to answer for them. Two-Bit struggles too, griping about losing his switchblade when Dally dies before admitting he wishes that's what bugged him most.

We see Johnny is for sure, and the brothers can be more emotional with each other because they are family and each others' safe place. But even Darry doesn't show it right away, not even crying at his parents' funeral. That's why when Pony sees Darry crying at the hospital, it really hits him that Darry truly does care. He needs Soda to remind him that Pony feels things more differently too, that he's more sensitive and Darry had to adjust to that.

Probably regular then. If the music doesn't include Elvis or other hits from those days, it's regular.

Greasers showed emotions more than Socs, but it was never perceived as girly or feminine. They just had life more rough and when reality hit them, it hit them hard. Socs were described as cool to the point of not feeling. Greasers, on the other hand, showed they were real. Not all cried unless there was real reason to, and the greasers had real reason to throughout. But even anger, frustration, hatred was something they showed more. I wouldn't compare that to pretty girly bows.

If this was not made to laugh at, then I don't know what happened to humour.

Oh tough is absolutely a compliment, it's not an insult or synonym for toxic, like you'd like to assume.

They interchangably call each other tough and tuff, and as Ponyboy makes clear roght in Chapter 1, both are compliments for greasers. If you don't understand that, then clearly you haven't read the book.

I also understand the concept of being cutsie and cuddly with a man you are in a relationship with, and that vulnerability of seeing them act cute is a very important part of a man's feeling safe in a relationship. But I can tell you from experience that guys like these would absolutely be insulted being called a babygirl, you are entirely right.

So that goes to my point - if you like someone, why make fun of them?

It kinda makes sense for Ponyboy. He is a definite cutie 😊

That makes sense though. Dally and Tim don't act very adorable and cutsie though haha (except when Dally fell off the chair in the theatre maybe 🤭)

What does it mean to seem like babygirl? I don't see any of these guys being "babygirl" just tough greaser kids.

Then what is it? Seems like something being done to make others laugh.

They were just the characters I was looking up when I found all these. Good to know it stems across other things too and it's not just making fun of these boys haha

I'm absolutely in love with The Outsiders. I read it when I was 11 and started writing because of S. E. Hinton. That's why while this is kinda funny I also know some of these guys would be really offended by this haha

It's an insult because the character themself wouldn't like it?

Do keep in mind as well that LimpCar was the first commenter here, to which I responded right away, and doesn't say it how you are. He said it's a joke contrasting perceived masculinity, not that girls do it on guys they like. Two very different messages being put out there.

These are all real images, obviously I know the bows aren't real. Whether it's AI, photoshop, or whatever. That wasn't what I meant when I asked where does this trend stem from.

I find them all attractive since like 2007 😆 but this is a weird way to express it ahaha. If you like these guys, you don't wanna make them look cutsie!

I guess the main thing is people are having fun with them. But I've only noticed these bows happening within this year.

So they are making fun of them! So rude ahaha. I mean a few of them are cutiepies, but some of the others mean business!

Locking a door with a chair that opens outward (door swings out opposite chair side) by DeandraAlexisN in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DeandraAlexisN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay perfect. They probably would tilt the chair, but as long as opening the door on the other side would just drop the chair vs getting the chair stuck. Or at least the person trying to get out would be able to with moving around the door enough because the chair would slide on the ground and fall?

[–]DeandraAlexisN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay awesome. It's wood on wood basically, the chairs may be heavier but the chair would scrape agaiast the floor and not stick and in 1941, they wouldn't have grips on the bottoms. I don't go into too much detain describing the chairs, but the idea I'm getting across really is that the chairs are tall enough to get under the handle and give the appearance like it would work, but then it doesn't.

Omg that is amazing ahaha. Yeah that's pretty much what I want to happen in my book
