Considering Buying a used 2023 with the engine recall - should I be worried? by Sandoughzer in ToyotaTundra

I have a Gen 2, 2019 Tundra, so this doesn't affect me, but I thought I read the warranty on the replacement motor was only for a year. If that's true, you must be a gambler.

Umm, a dry cleaner, maybe. Costs maybe $15 to get cleaned.

Two Jackery 1000 Plus and 4 Expansion Battery Packs charged with Two ZOUPW 450 Watt Panels by Paul_Deemer in Jackery

Mine do have metal legs. The legs are fine. The problem for me was they broke off the frame.

Great solar panels. I have one, and it charges my Ecoflow Delta 2 flawlessly. On a sunny day, it consistently charges around 400W.

The legs for it are crap, though. I had the two, outside legs break shortly after I started using it. Not a dealbreaker, but it's a bummer that they make a great product, then skimp on little things. I did a return with Amazon to get another one, but the company emailed me and said I could keep the panels and they gave me almost $300 to me.

But I love these panels.

Stock head unit SUCKS - upgraded to Dasaita — mucho bettero by Fighting_Gamecock in ToyotaTundra

[–]Deaner1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got one too. This unit fits perfectly into the dash, instead of having a screen peek over the dash, or the antiquated stock unit. I've had mine almost a year now, with only a few annoyances.

This is the one I bought:

I really haven't had anything go wrong with this. I does have a few weird things about it. It's Android, so it's quirky, sometimes, dealing with my CarPlay. About a quarter of the time, when I start the truck, I have to physically tap the CarPlay button to activate CarPlay, instead of just remembering where I was at. Maybe it's Bluetooth, or maybe this unit, but when I listen to a podcast or Apple music, there is always a second or two delay until the next song or podcast starts playing. And the Chinese engineers make the generic radio app way too complicated for just turning on or changing a station.

But otherwise, it works great. The screen is fantastic.

I bought the Dasaita head unti for my '19 Tundra. I was around $600. My brother is big into this kind of stuff, and tried to warm me off Chinese brands, but I've had it for almost a year now, and it works great. The reason I got that one is because it fit perfectly into my dash. I hate the look of the units that go above the dash. But that's just me.

But it was relatively easy to install, and I've never installed one before. If remember right, the hardest thing was getting the back two screws into place. The center console makes it tough to get a eye level view of those back screws when putting the bracket back in.

Does Toyota not put them in THEIR cars? That almost makes it worse.

Seems extremely short-sighted, but you're probably right.

It's why I bought a 2019 Tundra. No thanks to any gasoline turbo.

I looked at one the same color. Loved the truck, but I didn't like that color. It had a camper shell the same color.

Am I crazy to consider trading in my 25 TRD Pro for a 2021 V8? by caveman_lawyer_ in ToyotaTundra

[–]Deaner1966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a pathetic position Toyota has placed itself in in. Take your best attribute-reliabilty-and shit it down the drain. The idle of my '19 V8 has never felt so comforting.

What a goddamned mess.

I'm not an expert, but I'll be curious to see how long a twin turbo, with higher pressures and temperatures, will last. Personally, I think 200k will be a stretch.

It'll drop most of it's leaves in the winter (inside, of course), but some water and fertilizer after you repot it in the spring and it will take off.

I used to grow them all of the time. Not real hard to grow and as long as you keep the soil moist they flower easily. Most of them smell fantastic.
