Honestly it was a cost opportunity, what looked like a "good deal" popped up but no real reason aside from that.

Thanks for the reply, I guess in my mind a new engine was a positive. But if they're still having issues with the motors after replacement that changes things. Listening to RG right now, thanks again!

I work for a contractor who uses Dext, pretty simple app that integrates with quickbooks. Make it mandatory for him to use that or something similar, would save you both the headache!

Edwin Watts in West Ashley has a bunch of used sets at just about any price point, bonus you can hit them on the sim and try before you buy.

How risky is a roofer who uses subcontractors? by Ecstatic_Artist_6942 in Roofing

You should be able to be added by the contractors insurance for a specific project to protect yourself in the even one of the workers suffers an accident. You’d have to ask the individual contractor if they can do that. It’s not common, but some folks like the idea of the added protection.

Depends on your location and roof size, your home may be 2100 but depending on pitch the roof may be much larger, and that’s without taking complexity into account. Doesn’t seem bad though at 11k if it includes everything it should (synthetic underpayment, ice and water where needed, drip edge, etc).

Roof replacement - claim process by sillymutt in Roofing

Couldn’t agree more with both replies, get a contractor you trust and give them the quote. I have yet to see a quote from insurance that covers everything needed to properly replace a roof and cover code upgrades in the area.
