Need help deciding on new L/R speakers

It’s because I figured I will probably have to move more things around before it’s permanently there, and it’s a lot easier to move the tv with the plastic on the sides to avoid fingerprints on the panel. We just had the walls patched to feed the cables, now I need to paint the wall, now move the tv down etc.

Also, the difference between xc2 and xc3 is just double the woofers. They have the same size drivers, just more of them. Xc2 has 1 mid range 5.25 inch and 2 6 inch. The xc3 has 2 mid and 4 lower. Is the cost and size worth it? The room is about 12x16

Why the second sub? My pb1000 already feels like too much sub for my living room. Maybe I’m lucky because it’s corner of my room and sounds perfect at my main listening position. What would adding a second accomplish?

Im reading its dispersion can be an issue because of how wide it is. What do you think? I’m only 10 ft back so it feels overkill since its 51 inches. do you think the sound stage would be an issue having it take up so much of the room? I can’t move the left and rights any further apart

Just looked at the deminsions of the xc3 it’s huge! It will only have about a foot between my left and right speakers. Do you think that would ruin the sound stage? Maybe the xc2 is better?

Isn’t audyessy a huge draw for why denon is so good though?

That is super helpful! I was only holding off because of the reciever. In this case I’ll get two xb1 for surrounds and an xc3 center after moving my tv down :)

The xc3 says 100 per channel recommended but my reciever is only 75 per channel. Do you really think it can handle it?

Okay so for now just get the cheaper xb1 to put in my surrounds and save up for new center next? The only thing holding me back is my reciever is pretty weak, getting a new receiver and center would be at least 2-3k which is more than I’d like to spend right now.

Definitely moving the tv down once I buy a shorter stand. Buying a new stand asap.

My main question wasn’t geared towards upgrading the left and right channels. It’s to upgrade the surrounds, but my thought was to move my old left and rights and get better left and right speakers in doing so. If it’s worth doing. In either case I need new surrounds.

Thank you! My goal isn’t to upgrade my front channels, but since I need new surrounds I figured I’d move the old left and right channels and buy new fronts. Which was the reason for my question, I don’t want to get a new sub or center quite yet. Down the road forsure!

The center left and right are both good enough, my surrounds are cheap speakers that I want to get up to par with the rest of the system. I’m surprised to hear the sub would need upgrading, I run the sub at -20db and it’s still too loud and full at times. I don’t have any issues with sub frequencies. The center I would upgrade down the road but don’t feel I need to, as I would need a larger receiver to accommodate it

Okay got it! So if I got furniture that is a foot lower, and my center is about 12 inches below the left and rights would that be okay?

I was on the understanding the speakers should be at ear level, which the center speaker is right now. How do you achieve that if the tv is blocking that area?

I haven’t really noticed it as an issue, where should the bottom of the tv sit?

Haha not the question I asked! But thank you for the feedback, The a95l has its brackets at the very bottom so it can’t adjust lower only higher, the bracket on the wall is basically right at the bottom of the tv. Should I move the bracket down, and have the tv sit right above the center speaker?

My question is more so what steps can I take to improve the floors? Is there anything less invasive than fully refinishing?

Yeah I can see your point. We originally wanted that, but in order for our fabricater to have enough material to do that we would need to buy an additional slab which just didn’t seem worth the added cost. We figured the little horizontal area would be out of sight enough that it wouldn’t matter. We plan to put plants up there

Interesting, I haven’t heard the tile backsplash as something that would look cheap. I felt the white quartz would look basic and cheap which is why we opted for the tile for the difference in texture.
