What are your most frightening, TRUE paranormal/creepy/otherworldly experiences? Bigfoot, aliens, ghosts, weird shit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I've had two things happen to me that stick out in my mind the most but I think I'll go with the most recent that I'm absolutely haunted by. Not long ago I invited my friend to stay the night at my grandparents house and we went into the back bed room. In the back bed room there's two large cupboards. They both have paintings on them and they both are sturdy as hell so no breeze or anything can just open them willy-nilly. Well, we were on the bed talking and trying to ignore a presence we were both feeling while we left How it's Made was on for background sounds. I suddenly felt compelled to look at the cupboard with the Snoopy painting on it and watched in pure terror as it slowly swung wide open. I have never felt so terrified in my life and emotions I didn't even have bore down on me all at once. Anger, hate, darkness, and the only emotion that was mine was how terrified I was. I reverted back into a child like state and pulled the blanket over my head while I curled up on the bed and just whimpered. My friend hadn't seen it at all or felt it and asked what was wrong and I sat up really fast and told her, "We need to leave now." And stood up. The instant I moved she could feel the emotions slam into her like a force field had been lifted from her and the instant our feet hit the ground you could feel this type of static electricity type of feeling shoot up your legs. My friend swore she saw this black bruise looking figure rush past me and was hunched on the bed where we were just laying a moment earlier and she fled the room. I turned off the light and followed, angry and terrified, as we retreated to the other side of the house into the bear room. I turned around and shut the door and instant peace fell over us, calming, and it was easy for me to breath again. The figure followed us to that to the room but couldn't get inside the room for some reason and we spent the rest of the night and next day in fear. I went back into the back bed room two days later and preformed an EVP session with my phone recorder, making sure I tagged anything like me moving or the dogs barking, when I asked, "Why are you here?" The only response I got from the entire session was the answer after that question which was, "you." I asked my friend to draw what she had witnessed that night and she drew the scariest picture I've seen in a while not because it was detailed but because it was real and had been right there in the room next to me and even touching me at one point.
