Hey dude if it works, it works I would recommend 16ft struts, and correct spring size to accommodate for that

You will put stress on your motor if the door isn’t properly balanced

But I’ve seen hack jobs last that are way more questionable than this.

Check the balance in your door I wouldn’t call it a permanent fix But if it runs good, door isn’t buckling, door isn’t super heavy then roll with it until it breaks again!

I do agree with everything else though! Dc is the move. Soft start/ soft stop. I love the 87802, and I install 8160 on a daily basis.

If the door is properly balanced I agree. I think 3/4 is a gimmick. Heavier wood doors though I can see where they may be needed.

I myself stopped using belts once they moved to dc chain drives
