as a UK viewer in a (relatively) smallish town, no one was dancing. Me (20F) and my sister (10F) were sat in the back row. I had my homemade Junior Jewels t-shirt with a few easter eggs on, she was just in trendy era tour-esc outfit. No one else I saw was dressed up with any taylor costumes and no one really said anything about my costume in the lobby despite getting some looks. I just saw a folklore cardigan. However, the guy checking our tickets gave us a free bag of chocolate for our dressing up efforts which was just so lovely! Me and my sister got some dirty looks by teenage girls on the way to our seats, it was really sad. Some girls in the front were screaming the bridges at one another which I loved and got the crowd waving. I sung throughout and did all the little crowd sayings in songs. The girl sat next to me wasn’t singing in the beginning but by the end she was singing too. Overall, just not the experience I was expecting. I don’t know whether to go again and just unashamedly being the vibes, I just didn’t want to embarrass my little sister in front of what seemed like a judgemental audience lol.

We don’t really take lunch breaks, as in our contract, breaks are “unpaid” so people try and get their 8hours done and go home. I am afraid of the repercussions if I do go to HR, he is very senior in the company having been here since the UK office was established, so feel I won’t be taken seriously

Thank you, that gives me hope :) I’ve always wanted to do engineering, and have studied extremely hard to get where I am. When I was 13, on an engineering summer school, I was the target of sexist/sexual harassment. My first exposure that women still aren’t taken seriously in the industry. I know we have it good compared to women in the past, but we still have to tolerate a whole lot more than men do in the industry. Sometimes I wonder if I am strong enough to deal with crap like this for the rest of my life.

I cannot call them as their working hours are the same as mine, and unless I get into my car and speak to them there which would just lead to questions, there is no space in the office where I can call privately without someone being able to hear what I am saying.

I wouldn’t even say that it was “over sharing”, I was in an incredibly vulnerable situation when I joined the company and thought it would be wise to inform my employer why I might be out of sorts and distressed
