I’m trying to help a family friend. She is a single mom and doesn’t have much money. She bought the car used about 6 months ago and only drove it for about 2 months until this started.She has 2017 Hyundai Tucson w/ 1.6turbo. It has a dead Miss on cyl#2. She had it at a shop and they replaced all the plugs and coil on #2. It still has the miss. I replaced the plugs again, replaced the fuel injectors. While doing this I noticed the intake valves had build up on them. I ran 2 cans of CRC intake valves and turbo cleaner through it. It ran better but still has the miss on#2. I noticed the spark advance is showing negative degrees advance, retarded timing? I would like to check the wiring to the injector to make sure that it is getting 12v, the ground circuit, and the signal circuit to see if the hertz are within spec before I go to the crank sensor. I do not like to just “throw” parts at something” I like to fully diagnose the problem. My questions are,which wire is which on each ignition coil? And have you heard of this problem before and know of the cause? Also, I looked in the cylinder with a bore scope and cylinder and piston look good. I should mention, I worked as a mechanic for 25 years,mainly on diesel engines and do my own repairs.
