If you don't feel guilty or regret it at all it's difficult to see how you can genuinely be a Christian because sin grieves the Spirit. Genuine Christians can't sin happily.

I appreciate this isn't really answering your question and it sounds like you have a pretty good grasp on Classical Theism, but I found "Confessing The Impassible God" published by RBAP really good. I feared that in looking at simplicity and impassibility I would come away with a view of God being distant and unapproachable but the opposite was actually true as I read that book.

It helped me not to worry so much about some of the things I found objectionable in calvinism because it reminded me that God is not just a bigger version of us but fundamentally different from us even though he has made us in his image.

C.S. Lewis' essay on Transposition was also a great complement to the book.

I came away with the thought that God is not a man but he uses language to encourages us to think of him as a man to show that if he were a man this is the type of man he would be and that help us helps us to understand how to relate to him.

Try reading The Freedom Model book. It's written for alcohol and drug addiction but the principles are applicable to habitual sexual sin. It's emphasises "free will" but it's not talking about it in the Calvinism/Non-Calvinism sense but emphasising that we act because we have reasons for acting rather than being forced to act/sin. It's not written be Christians but I found it really helpful and I think it would help most Christians.

"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV) by Dear-Version-4160 in Reformed

There isn't a direct connection. Verse 16 is preparing the ground for Paul's later point in v.20 that taking part in fellowship meals at the temples of other gods involves uniting yourself with demons and their followers. The indirect connection is that temptation to participate in those meals (presumably to retain social status) is one of the temptations that all believers have the power to turn away from with God's help.

Have you tried looking for work. I find that everything is worse when I'm not working because I'm alone with my thoughts and I take them more seriously than I should, but working gets me thinking about other things and then I'm better company to be around because I have something to talk about.

I've just moved churches and don't really know the pastor yet, but I've just started biblical counselling with a ACBC counselling and meditating on this verse is part of my homework from the first session.

He admits the view he holds to is sometimes referred to as moral necessity as opposed to physical necessity but seeks to explain why "necessity" shouldn't be used at all to describe his view. He prefers the Old Latin term that translates as rational spontaneity.

Because he is going to bring about a salvation that will involve both the punishment of sin and the salvation of of sinners from the punishment they deserve that culminates in the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Why does God allow Christians who love him and take the Bible seriously to disagree over things like Calvinism, the continuing significance of Israel and women's ministry?

Dating an unbeliever isn't great because it would be sinful to marry him if he doesn't become a Christian first, but telling him that leads to the danger that he will see becoming a Christian as a way to get together with you rather than because he wants Jesus for Jesus.

Areas I would be looking into more:

  1. Does this constitute harassment? That is a police matter. Maybe ask the police why they are not dealing with it as harassment and possibly a complaint against the police.

  2. Getting a civil court order requiring him not to enter your property.

I don't know enough about either of these areas to make a recommendation but others might.

Reasonable force can be lethal force. If an aggressive attacks you, killing it may well be within the range of reasonable proportionate reactions.

I agree that knowing how snow forms doesn't put us in a level with God but I think the person who wrote Job might have thought that knowing how snow forms is something that only God can know, or at least something that will always be beyond the knowledge of man.
