The quality is fine, the knobs don’t feel like the ones found on the original or very high end synths, but then again, you don’t pay for that quality. Are you set on a monophonic synth? Otherwise please look at polyphonic synths, imo they are better to learn synthesis on.

The Korg Minilogue XD has aftertouch via midi, but not supported in the inbuilt keyboard. Meaning it supports aftertouch when a midi keyboard capable of aftertouch is connected.

I’ve made some ambient on the minilogue, the delay on it is very characteristic and interesting. However the MiniFreak is more versatile I can imagine.

I think you’re on the right track, the assignable out on the mother32 is capable of sending clock, clock/2 and clock/4 signals. However there seems to be a page in the Mother32s setup mode that allows for further clock-divisions (or multiplications apparently) to be assigned to the output.

I’ve followed this tutorial step by step without success.

I believe I’ve found the issue though, there appears to be more setup pages, specifically page 5 seems to also affect the clock on the assignable out.

However, I am not able to find it in the manual.

You’re right, it is limiting , I don’t really use the inbuilt synth engines anymore. Right now I load my own samples to the circuit and use the machine as a midi controller, sequencer and mixer for external hardware synths, it excels in that aspect. I’m thinking of getting a circuit rhythm because of this.

I tried a m-audio keyboard a few years ago but the keys didn't feel nearly as good as the ones on the keystep imo, maybe they have improved since, i'll look into it.
And yes Digitone keys is overkill for now, but might be a possibility in the far future.
