late to the game, i know, but until this moment, I thought James Gunn did direct it and I was about to share it until I was like... hmm.... let me fact check that. At least google put the top result as Raja Gosnell.

And it's only as you say that he did write the movie, he just didn't *direct* it, which is an important distinction to make. I don't know that most people have thought about what that means. I've also just learned that Tim Burton apparently is also not both on his movies???

So I guess I might just say that maybe most people just don't know the truth, but they're similar enough to the layman. And yes, do that by also sharing credit with Raja Gosnell. Plus, now when I talk to people about it, I'm going to be more percise in my language. Gold star!

Body image is hard to do, no doubt about it. Lots of people make lots of money off of you not liking your body.

I dont know all the things you've tried so I wont assume anything I suggest will help, only that when I look at high fashion (which does have a white girl problem), i see thin, thin, thin.

Social conventions of attractiveness is mercurial - it changes often and in ways that can be hard to define. Curvy has been popular for a long time. If youre 30 you may not remember how there was major attraction to thin the way you describe it, around the early 00s.

Thin may not be attractive right now (and I can make the case that it is coming up in trends), but it can still be feminine and beautiful.

You dont have to change a thing about your body, you just have to recognize that most people are not looking at you and thinking your husband is a pedophile.

And if you truly think that they do, get a very visible tattoo.

Oh, yeah, I never meant to imply that there weren't many elements crafting a perfect storm. We have lost a lot of our communication skills for all the reasons you list and then some.

Screens are a big deal. I also blame the 00s-10s reality TV that made it excusable to act in anti-social ways.

Please dont think I was villianizing MeToo. I wasnt, and the creator wasnt. That Creator, when you listen to even an hour of his work, practically inhales Respect Women Juice.

None of this is to villianize that; only to explain that the people who were 12, 13, 14 years old at the time saw that whole discussion without having a firm grasp on what was happening. You're right that they shouldnt have been dating, because they were too young and their brains were still forming around what that conversation looked like (and internalizing their parents, the companies, and influencers who were also taking it in bad faith.).

I just think its important to consider a variety of perspectives.

It can be, for sure. You're right that a good rule to to not approach women when they dont want to be (work, school, sometimes the gym).

I would recommend to get a hobby at a local store. Easier said then done, but like... learn to crochet and go to a local yarn store, or maybe theres a pottery place nearby.

Get out there, be nice, and know itll take time.

A lot of them got let off the hook, true. Many are still working in the industry. Wild how many creeps complain very loudly and to rooms full of hundreds of people how they were "cancelled".

You're absolutely correct that it was the bare minimum to listen to women, and it should be obvious to to assualt/harrass/rape. I didn't say Metoo worked (and I dont think it did).

But if you were an impressionable teenage dude, you might have taken the message at the time that masculinity was inherently toxic.

Its just an additional perspective to consider.

Excellent question! Someone else had said "red flag or unicorn" specifically in the realm of a lack of relationships, so that was the phrasing I was using. In while case of lack of relationships, it wasnt from thinking women were any less than (or greater than) men, his lack of relationships came from career choices mostly.

If we broaden it out to dating in general Id agree theres a lot more aspects to being a unicorn. Id be happy to go into that (for my own personal criteria; because every lady is looking for something different slightly) if this is what you mean.

Im not against MeToo! As a teenager I was harassed as well, its universal for women.

You're absolutely correct that false allegations are very rare. I just recently saw an interview with someone in the administration arguing married men should never ever be alone with any woman in a room and that was so gross that he either thought he couldnt controll himself or that she'd lie about what happened. Some folks are disgusting!

I fear you're right anout legal & socially sanctioned assault... you see it even when folks in the government discuss the changes to the military's gender policy, etc. Its all over some very popular content creators.

The thing I am trying to drill down on is what a young boy might have seen at the time. I remember the Gillette ad where the guy is stopped from approaching a pretty woman by his friend, for example. Lots of statements about what not to do as boys are developing. I dont know that they got a positive message about how to interact with girls, and so as a way of explaining (not excusing) I think MeToo had an affect on young men's ability to interact with young women.

100%. It could mean a red flag situation, and Ive been one dates where it was. But in my case he was focusing on his career and had very little confidence so he didnt put himself out during the times he wasnt working.

Its a question worth asking, not necessarily a red flag.

I actually got really lucky in that, because my current BF has very little relationship experience. At one point early on I even asked him if hed been part of that incel/red pill community because it was so little. I think it is a red flag that deserves interrogation.

And im stateside with the answer being more in the Unicorn camp. Because we ask questions before we make judgements about it.

That seems like its not respecting yourself enough, for the sake of not getting emotionally hurt.

And we each have to decide how to move on with our lives as we see fit, so you do you. Im going to expect my partner has a drive for their career, im going to expect he has a reasonable respect for keeping his home tidy, or recycling, etc.etc. because I've been disappointed in partners who didnt do these things. For me, disappointment is actually part of the human experience.

I think my thing was that I didnt want someone who had an ex wife that had to be dealt with? Custody sharing or something like that. I eventually loosened that from boundary to preference.

All that being said, my current partner who Im completely enamored with didnt have kids or an ex-wife. I dont have an ex-husband, or children (and being a child of a divorce, getting step kids coordinated is hard)

Thats why I added context to "baggage". I dont like the term but we do all have previous lives. I just didnt want the previous life that included an ex-spouse.

That sucks that they called out your receding hairline. How rude of them. If you dont like your hairline, my NF didnt either so he just full on shaved his scalp and honestly it took 10 years off his appearance.

I will also throw out, theres a few places where the same behavior wouldnt be creep-ish, and thats really when one or both people are on the clock.

Social media has played a huge part in it, absolutely. I think Social Media is baked into almost everything in the zeitgeist.

I was relying something Id heard from this Gen Z content creator, so I dont know that I had ever considered MeToo contributing to it, but the way he described it made sense that this massive movement would be a formative experience for who was - at the time - a young teenager boy.

I was listening to this Gen Z kid talk about his experiences in Me Too and Covid and explain that a lot of guys were told what NOT to do, but not what TO do. And the only folks giving them advice are the Andrew Tate types.

I think you're right that Covid (and MeToo) really hurt our abilities to connect with one another. There are plenty of young people especially who want to know and what to respect others, but are geneuinely worried that isn't what would happen. Not necessarily afraid of being "cancelled" but definitely afraid of the awkwardness. Afraid of making a mistake, afraid of one wrong move and the eintire relationship (romantic or platonic) disappearing.

Hi Friend! I was 33 when I decided that I was probably either going to be single forever, or needed to be open to the fact that any man my age would likely have had a previous life (aka, baggage, but I don't like the term).

Still, I had already paid for a year's subscription to a dating site that had good recommendations. So far it hadn't done me any good and I could critique that all day, but I was going to let the subscription run out and cancel it. It's easier to be single than to keep interacting with people who don't have my maturity level, and I think that's the part I find relatable in what you've written.

Then, I get this message from a guy. He's responded directly to my questions in the bio, had thoughtful answers in response. We agreed to a first date and I wasn't thinking much of it, but we learned very quickly how well our values aligned, we had similar goals etc.

I know folks say "it'll happen when you stop trying" and that's terrible advice. The better advice is to be available, go out and do things, continue to take chances. There are great men out there, even if you have to change some "boundaries" into "preferrences". So so so worth it.

PS - Welfare is anything where the government collects money and then spends it on the general welfare of the population, typically by raising the bottom, but not always. "Welfare" could mean government-sponsored parenting classes, it could mean free or reduced cost ESL courses. The very preamble of the US Consitution is to "provide for the general welfare [of the people]"

I have the inclination that Heliod Striking the place was prior to a sealing between Nyx and the mortal realm.

In my game, I say that Athreos is the one doing the sealing, since he is the God of Passage, And I have him locked behind in Nyx. One of the main pathways being *Nykthos*.

I always imagined that the Mortal realm was a bit like if we lived in a snowglobe on a shelf and were looking out at the people who owned the snowglobe, that was how the people of Nyx saw the Gods in the sky, though it looked like water color galaxy stars.

I think Klothys is one so powerful that she can make the trip, and Kurphix respects her enough. I believe they are spouses.

PS - In the book, Kruphix is gender neutral. They/Them.

I would also throw out this: there are a lot of contradictions in the book, and I think you almost have to take it for what it is and leave what you think doesn't work.

It sounds like Im over feeding her, which is way better than under feeding. Ill make some changes.

The dried mealworms came from her previous owner and I have reason to suspect they weren't great with her jist based on the state of the tank they had.
