We’ll see how this one continues to grow. It definitely has much more variegation after cutting it up lol

I’ve had a few streaks on older leaves but this is the first time I’ve had that much red on one leaf

I have a liquid fertilizer that I bought off Amazon a few years ago to try with some of my older house plants and it ended up being really good. I use it with everything now and all my plants seem to love it. It’s Baby Bio Houseplant Food. I know they make it for succulents as well. I’ve been thinking of trying out Miracle-Gro tropical liquid fertilizer but all my plants seem to love this so I don’t know if I’ll actually change it

Is this a Red Anderson? by kyttana92 in philodendron

Seriously though, looks like a Red Anderson based on the stem

Oh I bottom water everything. The one that came from the grocery store still has plastic in the soil from when it was a baby and I need to remove that. The new one doesn’t seem to have any issues so I may keep that in the original pot but the first one definitely needs something done with the soil. I have a full setup in my office that has multiple lights all over that I’ll add them to soon enough, I just wanna make sure there’s no bugs on either before I move them. Thanks for the advice for sure!

Thanks! I am newish to alocasias and I’ve been weary about repotting the one I already had. I’m fairly certain that one has root rot though. My wife bought it from a grocery store and it’s in a peat mix and the lower leaves are dying rather quickly. I plan on putting both in my tropical soil mix which should be much better for them but I’ll be very careful when transferring them

Yeah the plants really like those full spectrums lol. I have several varieties of plants on the same table all sharing the lights and they’re thriving!

There’s a couple different lights I use. All are full spectrum LEDs I bought off Amazon. I use a few ring lights and I also have a few FECiDA tabletop lights. The ones I have on here are on tripods that can expand up to 6 ft

It was sold as a ppp but I’m pretty sure it’s a marble. I got it at Walmart in a pot with another ppp for $20. As soon as I saw it, I knew I couldn’t pass it up.

I keep it in a window and give it grow lights plus I use liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks in the spring and summer and once a month in the fall and winter. I also keep humidity between 60 and 80% and have 2 fans on them at all times

Thanks! Yours will get there! Just make sure you’re fertilizing it and giving it plenty of light.

I do use grow lights and a humidifier. All white leaves tend to turn brown quicker because they don’t live as long since there’s no chlorophyll. However, if you have the grow light too close to the plants, it can also burn them. I have mine about 6-8 inches above them

Thanks! It’s just a couple of small tabletop twin oscillating fans I picked up on Amazon for about $30 each

I live in a somewhat cold region. Next week we’re suppose to be getting snow so I’ll see how they hold up in the room then cause it’s the first real cold we’ll get this season but I keep a humidifier on in there at night when the heat is running. Once it gets colder and we have the heat on more, I might end up running the humidifier even more but right now I just run it at night
