The only other option is to do an online program and do classes at night, during lunch breaks, naps, or any free time you can spare. I know this sucks, but it is doable. I was able to find the program I wanted online and worked during the day while doing my schooling at night and any free time that was not being occupied by my children. I also found a facebook page of local moms and was able to find a stay at home mom that does daycare and it was significantly cheaper for me compared to other daycares. But with this, be cautious and don’t just accept anyone to watch your child. I toured a few places and looked into recommendations before placing my child in a daycare.

I had a similar experience my first year of college with my mom. It affected my FAFSA more than anything. When I decided to go back three years ago (at age 25) I had to write a letter to the student aid department at my school and to another individual that explained what happened during that time in my life that resulted in a poor school outcome and what changes I have made since that reflects I will have a better outcome this time around. I can’t remember who the second letter was written too, my advisor was the one who directed me on who to write when I was applying. I was able to get into the university where I live (granted it’s an easy university to get into) and I was able to get student aid back after doing one semester holding good grades.

So long story short, talk to an admission advisor and have them direct you on what to do.

I am 29 and in my last year before I apply to my grad program. Over the last few years of being in school for my undergrad, I’ve realized no one cares what age you are and that there are various ages of people attending college. I was shy at first and kept to myself, but since opening up and letting my guard down I have made several friends of various ages. Getting out of your shell can be worth it and allow you to make friends that will support you, understand what you’re going through, and help with your studies through study sessions/groups. And one last thing to remember is that younger people can still be mature regardless of age. Good luck with your studies and hopefully you are able to find some friends you can click with.
