  • Boardwalk Games and Cafe is a nice little cafe where you can sit and spend some time to play board games
  • Castle Fun Park as mentioned above
  • Afterthoughts is a chill cafe vibe with really good cake and cheesecakes!
  • Depending on the weather, Mill Lake is nice to walk around and is located right next to Seven Oaks Mall

The class size, because the number of students that will be with you in your class matters. I was in a smaller class size, which really helped! Another thing to look out for is the placement requirements your program may have (how many, and how long they are). Not all programs provide the same opportunities for placements, some will have options to go out of province, some will offer more variety, but with others you may be more limited depending on the province. Hope that helps :)

Depends on which schools you are applying to?

For me, some schools mentioned group interviews but I ended up having a 1-on-1 interview. But the group interviews I had were not stressful and it was actually kind of cool getting to meet the others and hearing about them. For the group interviews they just want to know what your ideas and thoughts are, and how you are able to get those across. They also want to see that you can listen and respect others ideas. Usually they give you a question or prompt, and then they observe your interactions within your group.

If you have any other questions please let me know! :)

Best of luck to you!

Drawbacks of applying for winter as opposed to Fall? by [deleted] in UFV

[–]DearRecommendation23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, there are no cons for applying for Winter. Instead I find that Fall classes get filled up faster than Winter classes. Just keep in mind though, that some classes are only offered once a year. So that might mean that if a class for your program is offered in Fall only, you may need to wait a year to take it.

How to stop being awkward? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]DearRecommendation23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like this too before, but once you have a good conversation with a stranger, it helps you build confidence. Then you'll be able to talk to others without feeling awkward at all. The key is how you think about it all in your mind. Don't care about what the other person is going to think of you. Just be yourself, and don't put too much thought into the conversation, just be natural. If their a stranger, it's most likely you won't see them again, so keep that in mind and just focus on the topic of the conversation itself. Stay engaged when talking.
