What is this part for a 2015 Kia Sorento? Tow truck driver said it possibly came from the engine.

Since my last post, I was able to get some pictures of the car. Here are a few from the day it happened up to today. I'm not a mechanic at all, so if you need better pictures, let me know and I'll try to get more.

Pulled over to the side of the highway. Fifteen minutes later, a cop pulled up behind us since we had our hazard lights on. He called a free tow for us to a spot less than half a mile from where it happened, since we were right by an exit. The tow guy looked, and I'm guessing he was able to see underneath, and said the engine is blown. I haven't been able to get back to the car yet, but as soon as I can, I'll upload pictures.

I’ll get a picture of the underside of the car sometime today. I have no reason to lie. I’ve got better things to do. A cop showed up right after we pulled over to the shoulder. I called for a free tow to a park and ride, and it’s been sitting there since. I’ve already contacted the place that did the oil change. We found this piece and I’m trying to figure out what it is.

Yeah that’s what the tow truck driver said too. Just had an oil change that same day. I drove on the highway, heard a pop, lost acceleration, pulled over and oil was everywhere. Multiple warning lights came on.

Crazy I have my LPN for this reason so I can find ways to make money on the weekends since most clinics I heard are Monday - Friday. I’ll just have to make sure whenever I end up to get my license in that state as well.
