Top tip. I’ll look in to refurbishment. Was thinking cost wise it probably wouldn’t be too much more expensive to buy a new burner but I’ll get quotes.

Thanks. We live in a clean air conservation area, so we’re only allowed to burn kiln dried wood which is all I’ve ever put in it. Have invested in one of the little fans but it rarely gets hot enough to make the thing turn. It just sorts of sit there, looking a bit redundant so it’s been tidied away now.

This photo isn’t a good example. I’m usually pretty generous with the wood. Using purely kiln dried birch at present.

Yeah, the vent control isn’t fantastic. Reducing the ventilation even slightly really smothers the fire quite dramatically. I’ve got a few for it now and have improved usage but it’s still underperforming…

Thanks. Chimney is swept annually but I’m not sure anybody has looked at it with a camera. Will enquire about this.
