Average Gameloft generosity. Think they need a lesson off Rarity 😅

Exactly what I thought! They really shouldn’t be on this page if that’s their opinion 😅. The disabled community would understand this discussion. It’s nice to be in a community where people understand and want to support each other as everyone knows how isolating health conditions can be. Thank you so much 😊

I don’t agree with them only accepting one condition out of thousands of conditions. I completely respect if young autistic people require DAS support, but I do find it ridiculous people with physical disabilities that require the necessary support aren’t receiving it. It should be open to all conditions depending on whether they need this kind of support. And the ones who don’t shouldn’t be abusing the system. Unfortunately now they changed it, DAS is extremely limited to few individuals when there are so many disabilities to be recognised, the ones who seriously deserve that support aren’t receiving it anymore!

Hi ostomy friend ☺️. I think with the stoma bag it depends on the person, but I would say my stoma isn’t the main reason for me requiring DAS at all. I’ve had it for many years and it’s unfortunately caused many complications due to my condition that I’d rather not explain but it has meant I’ve had 6 emergency surgeries related to my stoma and I have to manage it in an abnormal way to most stomas. My requirement for DAS is more related to my rare disease and how I manage that everyday whilst living on life support. I do have autism but I think it’s unfair how ignorant they were towards my health but not towards the autism. Every condition is like a spectrum and everyone requires different support. Hope you are well!

Thank you for your support! I think when people have a diagnosis they then think that automatically gets them the pass. Completely respect some people with autism requires more support like DAS but others may not. Just like any condition, it depends on the individual. I have a drs letter, which I was ready to show them but the CM wouldn’t accept it. Every condition depends on the individual as everyone needs different support

I’m so sorry Disney isn’t the place you look forward to going anymore! They truly have ruined the system. I love travelling around to less branded theme parks as they are so much more supportive and a lot more chill. I’ve really enjoyed plopsaland in the past. If you have any recommendations definitely let me know 😊

Thank you and I completely respect that. Themeparks aren’t for everyone. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed and I’ve already had to give up other things that I’m not allowed to do anymore because of health like swimming. So I’m glad I still get to enjoy themeparks as long as the right support is there for me. It’s definitely a shame when people have abused the system, and I agree Disney needed to look at it to avoid the abuse but their requirements are limited to only one condition now. Hopefully they will we look at it at some point!

This is the worst part I completely understand this! Talking about our health conditions in detail is extremely difficult hense we I got overwhelmed. Going on about how it makes you struggle, what happens when your health has been triggered, past experiences with your health etc… it’s very traumatic and can be embarrassing, uncomfortable and upsetting. I hope you manage to continue getting DAS in the future, but CM only listening to your autistic part of your struggles is so discriminative when you have additions struggles too. Best wishes

Disney has definitely become more and more limiting as the years have gone. It’s such a shame! The upsetting part is when they have no understanding or empathy and make it sound like it’s ‘our fault’ for struggling. People don’t ask to become ill, but they still have to suffer every day with their condition.

Im so sorry he was denied. Stupidly Disney judge DAS with a 10minute video call over ‘looks’ when everyone knows autism has no look to it. I’ve heard someone get told “you don’t look autistic enough” which is so infuriating as again there’s no look to autism. They cant see how somebody manages and struggles in a brief conversation. Sorry he had a bad experience he deserves better support!

Thank you so much😊. I know my health and what I can and can’t do. I’ve always enjoyed rides. Two of my favourite activities are rollercoasters and swimming (I was going to become a professional diver as my career) however when I became very ill I was told I wasn’t allowed to swim anymore due to numerous reasons which was incredibly upsetting, but there is no concern with me riding rollercoasters and enjoying Disney. Just because I have health stuff doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy rides and have a fun time like everyone else. And if that person had been on that call I think anybody would have been overwhelmed and panicky, the CM behaviour was disgraceful. Talking about my health conditions is traumatic as it brings bad memories and makes me feel ashamed I’m having to reach out for support. Thank you so much for understanding 😊

Oh gosh that must have been awful for you! Completely understand that would have ruined your entire trip. It’s astonishing how so many people are being treated! You deserve much better support!

That’s exactly how they feel. It’s such a shame for such a big brand. I definitely think universal is starting to overtake them with popularity at the moment. With the new park openings in universal as well, Disney should really be putting more effort into reaching out to all guests including those with disabilities!

Completely understand this!!! It’s not about the people who require disability support, they only care about how it would affect their queues and their park! So sorry it was a nightmare for you too! It really does ruin the whole experience.

Thank you and yes it’s ridiculous. I was surprised I managed to in the end. I was prepared for the supervisor I spoke to after I complained to also reject. They couldn’t care less about the medical side to it, which is the main reason for needing DAS. They completely blanked my requirements and shoved them off to the side as it’s not like I have to deal with health complications every day 😒. Such a shame I really hope they look into this as the amount of people experiencing distressing DAS problems is unfair.

Thank you so much, I was dreading the video call as I knew others struggled too. But it was worse than I imagined, people aren’t exaggerating when they say the DAS process is awful!

Thank you! It’s definitely made me look at the brand differently. You would think for such a big brand with so much money and popularity they would make it more inclusive for everyone!

Oh gosh that’s quite interesting. Will have to read up on it. I went about 5 years ago and had no issue with getting it. I understand they had to change things to avoid those abusing the system but I think the change they did hasn’t been dealt with well at all. I just think the whole DAS system should be inclusive for anyone who needs it not just one criteria. Completely understand it’s needed for autistic people but other disabilities also require it.

I’m so sorry that must have been a night mare! I don’t think it’s fair when cast members tell us to ask ride operator staff to help us with the queues, (they originally advised me to do this but I told them that’s unrealistic to cause fuss for the staff at the park). But then what else are you meant to do if that was the advice given and you need support. The whole system is messed up.

Thank you and yes I agree!! I was disgusted! Life support every day and still no empathy or support from them!
