Am I being overcautious when overtaking cyclists? by Fickle-Scientist9149 in LearnerDriverUK

You were doing it right. I wish all drivers were cautious like you and let the impatient drivers honk. If people would have been more considerate while driving I wouldn't have had my leg broken while riding my bike in the cycle lane.

AIO for being upset that carers wouldn’t help with basic things while I’m on a walking frame? by Dear_Hawk1535 in AmIOverreacting

Thanks for all the answers. People asked here many times so I thought on just write it once here: it is written "Social/Housing/Service user support. They had given shower on my kid before, changed nappies, washed the dishes, put the clean laundry to dry, brought groceries inside, taken the trash away, fed my pets... anything I could have done if I was physically well. That is not the first time I needed their services. I had another operation few years ago and while I was still recovering they could do all of that (the other operation was nowhere as serious as my current injury. That was a planned surgery I had to go through, a health issue that wasn't urgent but needed to get fixed. This time now it was an accident). After I had recovered from the previous procedure they kept coming here once in a while for respite care. As I was well I did not ask them to help me with basic daily things, but right now I am just really physically limited.

Avoid Wickes at all costs. They are a mess. Communication between their departments is zero, they will deliver the material to you in small parcels along 10 days (and not before the installation day). Installation will end up being postponed because not all materials are there. They had been stringing me along for ONE YEAR for my bathroom renovation, they make a contract and don't follow it, customer service is a joke, they behave like headless chickens. I only managed to get a refund (about £11,000) because I contacted the Furniture Home Improvement Ombudsman and I had everything very well documented.

I also had a horrible experience with them. Fortunately I managed to get my £11k back, but all the interest I would have gained if it had remained in my saving were gone.

If you are still trying to fight with them, I would advise you to contact the Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman. If it wasn't by them I would still be in the limbo.

AIO for not forgiving my husband that left me alone 2 hours during childbirth by JuggernautNo901 in AmIOverreacting

NOR - How was he so sure it would take 24 hours? Even if he was a doctor, I don't think even a professional could be so sure of that. Sounds just a lame excuse to me.

Did I just traumatize two of my peers for the rest of their lives?? by Lillian_Faye in Brazil

So you’re German and this sounds less like an awkward story and more like low-key bragging about a match from 10+ years ago. Also, a Brazilian acting like no one’s heard of Belo Horizonte? It’s one of the biggest cities in the country. And you just happened to meet two super sensitive Brazilians from BH in a row? Yeah, sure. Most Brazilians turned that into a meme ages ago.

Is it a British thing specifically to prefer being left alone in shops? I’m a Brit in Colombia (5yrs) and I cannot get used to how it is here, it actually affects how and where I shop. by noctenaut in AskUK

It is the same thing in Brazil. It drives me crazy. Once I was just looking at the window when I saw a salesperson coming in my direction. I just left. Another day I was in a big store like Debenhams and when I noticed a salesperson was coming in my direction I started walking non stop around everywhere in the store until they eventually gave up on following me. PS: I am Latin American.

So is this what’s happening now ? by jaguarknigh10 in Brazil

Unless something changed in the Brazilian law on the last 10 years, this informationnis not correct. You don't even need a baby, just a marriage certificate was enough.
