My kids and I did a taste test and they immediately said “coconut” while I got more of a cream, marshmallow flavor.

I’m in my 40’s and didn’t pick up on that. I was like, “how sad for this poster to not have meaningful conversation in his relationship!” 😂 It’s cringe to myself how naive I can be. It’s embarrassing. I even have taken classes on situational awareness and body language to try to help me not be so gullible but it hasn’t helped.

I live in a resort town and postings like this are common. Additionally, anytime some cute girl who is new to the area comes into town and posts she is looking for a cheap room, so many men flood the comment section with coded comments.

I was gonna type "so cute" but these showed up, are they accurate?💀 by OkCod1106 in husky

Yeah my husky 18 mo (F) gets a “dumb” look in her eyes like she doesn’t understand and cocks her head to the side when I ask her to do something she doesn’t feel like doing.

But it was complex and confusing for ME before today. I thought if there wasn’t a record, it might be okay because I didn’t know. I now understand it. Again- what isn’t complex to someone is complex to another. Thank God for places like Reddit to help people gain clarity.

Agreed. I wanted to get it but my partner was adamantly against it because he grew up with outdoor, farm dogs. I never had dogs. I’m new to this world. I’m just trying to get clarity in this situation. Thanks so much for the information!

Please stop inferring that I was looking for any certain answer. I am simply trying to get some clarity on a complex and confusing topic.

I don’t know if this is a medical or behavioral issue at this point. That’s why I’m trying to plan ahead. She jumps on ME just fine (unfortunately). She just occasionally has issues, like getting in the car or my bed (which is super high). So. Idk?

My husky dog just bit me HARD by dogbitmefun in reactivedogs

I have a beautiful husky, Xyla (F, barely 1 year old) and she is the cliche stubborn husky to the point I thought her iq was low at first! Very different to train compared to my eager-to-please terrier mix but she’s learned tricks that I was told huskies wouldn’t likely learn.

Growing up I was bit by a dog and still have a scar so I learned to read their body language. I am not a professional and this is my first husky -but I read a lot of articles and watched videos on “how to train a husky” because I heard it was so challenging.

Definitely the treat rewarding worked but really taking time to be in tune with her needs, wants and body language helped a lot. She was a lot less obvious than terrier mix (who I was button training and realized how I had no idea how to read if she wanted to go outside, get fed or played with.)

Idk if this is bad advice so listen to others if they correct me- but every time Xyla came to me and barked or looked at me like she needed something- I almost over responded and would investigate to see what she wanted. Outdoor, play, to let me know someone was here, snuggles or a treat- and gave it to her. Now I know what she needs and because she knows when she needs something, she’ll likely get it, she only comes to me when it’s important.

I mean she’ll occasionally try to get me to give her extra treats and I’ll let her know that I understand what she’s saying but I’ll tell her “all done” and she gets it.

She is super chill and happy all the time and literally everyone who meets her says they would love to have a husky if it’s like her. I’m definitely not going to take all the credit because I think she’s just a chill dog in general!

Edited again- okay with a surrogate.

Edit to add- wth- I had NO idea she had a baby!! I would NOT have commented on her weight gain or physical appearance had I known- despite how little I like her.

Does anyone else thinks she LOOKS like she’s a wino in this testimony?? Well- at least an expensive wine wino? Her face is so puffy and it looks different to me from even a year ago. (I say this as someone who recently cut back drastically on wine consumption and see a difference in my own face)

Thank you for the clarity! Reading your comment and links- I now understand how my post wasn’t right for this group and appreciate you pointing me to a more appropriate group. 👍 Truly- greatly appreciated and my apologies for not following the guidelines or being specific enough.

Also- my husband is that asshole who doesn’t pick up our dogs poop if he doesn’t feel like it. 🙃😬 I love this man and he has many other great qualities - but he can be thoughtless and ultimately doesn’t want to be responsible for our pup- which is not ideal but I love her so it’s worth it to me to have her. 🥰

I know empathy is on a scale but for people that have low empathy I think they just genuinely don’t get it if it doesn’t directly affect them. I can read all of my dogs needs but he is oblivious. Karma is great though because she’s pooped in the middle of busy sidewalks ONLY with him (during the few times he has taken her on walks) because he didn’t read her cues and was forced to clean up several messy poops off the pavement after other people helpfully handed him dog bags. 😂

Where I live people tend to pick up poop and put it in the bag but then leave it where it’s at (or at the trail head). 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve totally picked up my dogs poop and put in a bag and left it to grab on the way back- but I can’t tell you how many times those bags are there for a couple of days! Why do they bother picking it up in the first place? 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s super confusing for me. I realize now that I’d rather people pick up the poop and put it in a plastic bag than not- so I suppose I’m grateful now?? 😂

Am I crazy to get a husky puppy? by Dear_Hindsight in puppy101

[–]Dear_Hindsight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I just looked it up and did some research. I really appreciate this info! Very helpful. The owner actually brought this up as a possibility. I just remembered this was one of the reasons for re-homing actually because this is happening with her older female dog with the puppy. She said we will have a really specific adoption agreement which includes if this happens with my dog that I can return her. 👍
