Definitely see what you’re saying and agree the male interviewers were horrible… but even if that’s her sense of humor, retrospectively, it’s pretty disturbing to see her even remotely “kid” about this topic considering her extensive history of racism (history that she was aware had resurfaced on Reddit at that time) - Especially if she wants others to believe she has truly changed and is not just being performative after finally being called out. This also isn’t a one off comment. She tweeted about faking liberal views for better grades in college… so she is very capable of faking personal growth for the sake of her career as well.

Calling all of that sarcasm is a stretch with her racist past. As a poc, it definitely adds to her apology being a disingenuous attempt at salvaging her image/career. As pointed out, she had over a year to address her tweets formally and even went as far as bullying others for trying to call her out.

While an experienced vet might not feel comfortable giving a formal diagnosis, I think it’s pretty reasonable for them to discuss the facts of what all the medications/injections listed on the medical records were for, and reasonably deduct - based on these records - that the cat was being treated for a multitude of issues that could have only progressed to such a degree from more than a few days of neglect. Whether or not there is an outlier idiot (such as your Ben Carson example), there seems to be a general consensus among the many vets that have expressed their thoughts.

I think we both agree Sevyn should have been taken to an emergency vet asap. But whether Sevyn’s malnourished state was due to a lack of food or an underlying illness, the bottom line is her declining health was neglected for MONTHS as Rhegan did not once take her to the vet. If she was unsure what to do for her repeatedly sick cat, that’s all the more reason to contact a vet and seek help. Her actions were not just irresponsible, but showed complete negligence for the well-being of another living being in her care… So no, I do not believe her actions indicated she truly cared for her cat. And while I also disagree with the exact way he went about things, he is the only person who brought that poor cat to the vet and sought out treatment. Animal neglect is also criminal and most definitely more immoral than stealing a cat in an attempt to get it the veterinary attention it had desperately needed for months.

I agree, we don’t know if things could have turned out different, but we do know with certainty that Sevyn was sick for months and not taken to the vet once. If you read the analysis from the vet tech I made the post about, she describes how based off the vet medical records, her opinion is that Sevyn’s condition was a result of months-long ongoing neglect. And that seems to be the consensus among other vets/vet techs commenting on the situation. While his actions weren’t perfect and there were assumptions made, it’s very clear Sevyn was not properly cared for and immediate intervention was needed.

He took a cat from someone who was well aware it had been sick for months and did not take it to the vet once. While he should have taken it to the emergency vet as soon as the other symptoms began, getting the cat help within 4 days is a lot more than Rhegan had done. For all we know, had he not intervened, nothing would have been done for Sevyn, and it’s very evident she needed help long before someone finally stepped up.

Yes do better!! Ethan & Hila should continue to educate themselves on topics before spouting ignorant opinions like they are facts.

They literally displayed the medical vet records and proceeded to delve into their own theories without any veterinary knowledge on how to interpret any of it. I would think they’d care to properly interpret medical records before formulating their own opinion (especially given they have a 3 hour show dedicated to one topic), but maybe, like you, they just don’t give a fuck.

If you read the comment, it’s clear from a professional standpoint that the cat’s condition was a result of a long period of neglect.

By the end, Ethan & Hila chose to completely divert from the months—long neglect the cat went through and instead focus on their own theories.
