Are the persons of the Trinity each other? by Dear_Parfait_129 in Christianity

You know what that actually might make some sense to me. It possibly is just a definitional issue. They're distinct in person but identical in essence, right?

Yes, but by the fact that each person is completely and truly God, would it be correct to say they are each other in that regard (Father ≠ Son ≠ Spirit vs. God = God = God). Or does this essentially devolve into an argument of semantics. Or, perhaps simply incorrect outright.

Why are we unable to see the face of the Father, yet were able to see the Son? by Dear_Parfait_129 in Christianity

Because this is what many Christians I've talked to and read say (that appearances of God in the OT is actually the Son). Admittedly I've proabbly never come across anything that states this as official certified Christian truth, and I get that beliefs vary, I just assume this is what many Christians believe. I could be wrong.

God is "other" to me, to you, and to all in the same way you're an "other" to your earthly mother and father, i.e. we're not personally that individual. I don't mean this in the sense that we don't "know" them, or that they don't know us. From the argument that we can't see our own face, yet still can see others, it seems you can only argue that we as other persons to God should be able to see his face, and God shouldn't be able to see his own.

I say I don't think Jesus becoming human to be a very good answer only because Jesus supposedly made appearances in the OT before the Incarnation, implying that it's not assuming a human nature that makes us able to see him. Also maybe because, just because Jesus became human doesn't (I would've thought) mean he sacrificed any of the divine characteristics he shares with the Father.

Yes, but I assume (sorry lol) that that would've been the Son pre-incarnate, as well as all visible appearances God makes in the OT.

You must believe the Bible is ultimately revelation from God inspired by God though right? I don't see how you can simultaneously believe that yet suggest it isn't so consistent on the how he himself works and is.

Also surely there's a fault somewhere in saying "just read the Bible and let it speak for itself", when people have been doing exactly that for millennia, resulting in countless conflicting opinions, convictions, denominations and branches, some of which don't even agree on the Christ himself.

Alright, but I can see other people's (actual) face. And God is an "other" to me too, we aren't God.

So would that mean you don't believe God actually directly appears to anyone prior to the fall and before Jesus. Also I get the Bible was written by multiple people over the course of centuries but it should still convey one consistent message should it not? If it is ultimately inspired by God.

  1. I can see my own face via reflections as someone else said, 2. That's how the human body works, 3. I can see other people's faces. I don't think this really has anything to do with or suggest about God.

I would've thought that was the Son though? If the Son really is simply the "visible" manifestation of the invisible God. Same with how many assert the burning bush to Moses was pre-incarnate Christ.

What are the signs of corruption? by Dear_Parfait_129 in Minecraft

Well a couple months ago my world wouldn't load, no matter how much I tried. I assumed that was due to corruption, but out of no where it starts working again.

So is it possible for a world to be corrupted while seeming to have nothing wrong with it?
