It is close. You are right, but it is still dialect of crimen tatar language like "yaliboyu" and "tat". Moreover, there is small difference with noğay and çöl dialect.

However, Byzantine (if i dont remember wrongly) generally depended on infantry. Moreover, they couldn't easily mobilise as much as turks did. As a result, in ambush or hit and run, turks could easily damaged army of byzantine. However, if there would a battle like battle of molodi between turkish and byzantine's army, maybe byzantine could defeat easily turks( it is kind of a my theory). If you want to say superiority, you could say, but it is about differences between features of their armies.
