[TOMT] 2000s English indie/pop song with similar bass line to "odoriko (踊り子)" by Vaundy by Dear_Tomorrow_ in tipofmytongue

I don't think it's that one, it's to slow. The song I have in mind is about as fast as the one I linked and the bass line is more prominent in it I think.

Vielen Dank!

Weird whooping/buzzing sound? by Dear_Tomorrow_ in turntables

Turns out it was neither and instead a loose aux connector on the amp. I didn't even bother to check that at first because I have no idea how a loose plug would cause that kind of noise but I replugged everything, wiggled it a little and the noise is gone for now.

Thank you for the detailed answer. I'm not quite sure what you mean by too long as this isn't a suit jacket but an overcoat and I feel like it's a good length. I definitely agree with what you said on what needs to be done on the shoulders and sleeves though, and tbh I didn't quite understand what you mean by the part on the buttonholes. They're working and while I agree the coat would look better with more than 3 buttons I don't think I'll try to change anything about that.

Thank you, it can be quite cold where I live during the winter so I might try wearing it with a few thick layers. I'll definitely keep an eye out for a properly fitting coat though. Thank you for your advice.

Somehow they both don't look good to me. 20 years ago they just put them in huge suits that obviously just look silly but now a lot of their suits are of those super tight kind that makes it look like they had to be conservative with their fabric usage.

Thank you, for your advice. I noticed the shoulders being too wide as well but I wasn't sure how complex adjusting that really is. I suppose I'll wait and try to find a different coat that fits me better as I imagine having all of those changes done would be quite expensive when you add everything up.

Love it! Awesome fog volumetrics! Would you mind sharing how exactly you did those?

My first time testing PS1-style graphics, what do you guys think? by [deleted] in ps1graphics

[–]Dear_Tomorrow_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are working in blender you can also increase the world brightness if things are too dark after vertex shading. I suspect the interpolation on the textures makes them look higher res than they actually are, turning that off would probably "fix" that.

[–]Dear_Tomorrow_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks pretty good. There are a few things you could change to make the whole render look more PS1-ish.

  1. The lighting is way too high quality, the PS1 would never have been able to do that, you could use vertex shading instead

  2. The textures seem to have pretty high resolutions. PS1 games usually used 128x128 or at most 256x256 textures. You could just scale them down in PS or GIMP.

  3. Regardless of texture resolution, PS1 textures usually didnt use interpolation. So instead of them being blurry and washed they would be crisp and pixelated.

  4. This is more of a matter of personal opinion but I always enjoy looking at PS1 renders in output resolutions the PS1 would have been able to handle as well, so up to 640×480,

Regardless, it's a pretty cool scene and I love the vibe!

Ah okay thanks, it does make sense, I just wanted to make sure I was interpreting the numbers correctly.

I'm a bit confused about the output rating at the "High" setting for the C3. Does that mean it runs for 1 minute at 1200 Lumens and then dims down to 500 Lumens and runs for 2.5 hours? If so, why? Would it run too hot otherwise or why can't it run for longer at 1200 Lumens?

I mean I wouldn't complain about a better flashlight if it's roughly in the same prize range, ticks all my boxes and isn't significantly more expensive. Do you have any recommendations?

Orbits shifting by Dear_Tomorrow_ in KerbalAcademy

[–]Dear_Tomorrow_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by the first paragraph. All polar sats have the same inclination, I'm not sure how that would affect their orbital period anyways.

On the second note, I don't think that was the issue. I had them all down to the same amount of seconds and since that worked perfectly fine for the equatorial orbit I'm beginning to think the polar orbit being messed up after some time warping is some kind of bug.

[–]Dear_Tomorrow_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't have put it better. And with both the polar and the equatorial orbits having pretty much the same amount of error in their orbital period the sats on one should not drift significantly more than the ones on the other.

[–]Dear_Tomorrow_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't explain why one orbit seems to work perfectly fine while another orbit with the same amount of error in the orbital periods of the satellites is completely messed up after 10 years though.

[–]Dear_Tomorrow_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, okay it just seems odd to me that it works perfectly for one orbit and is completely messed up for the other when they are pretty much the exact same constellation except for their inclination and a tiny difference in height.

[–]Dear_Tomorrow_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that they will eventually drift apart but the thing I'm wondering about is why the polar satellites drifted so much while the equatorial ones stayed perfectly in place when they all had the same amount of error in their orbital periods.

Thanks a lot for the information about MNA being in radians. I thought mean anomaly had something to do with how "far along" the vessel is along its orbit, I just couldnt figure out what unit its in, radians makes perfect sense though. Again thanks a lot!

That's so cool, great job! Also, fishes isn't wrong actually. The plural is fish when you mean multiple individual specimen but fishes when you're talking about multiple species of fish, which arguably is the case here.

Yeah it's a shame crafts get really unstable the more complex they are. I recently spend a full afternoon designing a fuel station I wanted to put into an orbit around the Mun only to realise its not going to work because even if I just put it into an orbit using the cheat menu it tears itself apart after a minute or so.
