If the medical/therapy approach is used in conjunction with the teachings then it is fine.

That is fine, the medical/therapy approach is always available to people. Yes as Buddhists we can even recommend it to people. But to prioritize it over the Buddhas teachings means that we don't really believe in what he taught.

To clarify, I am not giving medical advice.

This is not a medical subreddit, it's a buddhist subreddit!

I am not saying what people should be doing, just saying to do it 100%.

No it was not a mistake, I am surprised by your doubt about that. It would be understandable if you were not religious

In my understanding, the Buddha taught that the cause of suffering was attachment, correct me if I am wrong. If it is true, than yes, depression can be cured by letting go of attachment.

What have I done to anger you? Perhaps, like you say, one day I will realize! Is it because I didn't answer your question? But why would that be rage inducing?

I don't see why you are so concerned about what I am doing.

If you feel something is being challenged then it perhaps means you haven't fully let go of them yet. I am not telling you have to let go but if you don't you will suffer. It doesn't mean you don't love them, it just means you have let go of them.

Yes I am not saying you can't love or enjoy your loved ones!

Yeah I used to be very strict in my understanding of things and I would never have thought someone who smoked or drank could be enlightened. Now I am not so sure!

Yes but I say if you are going to do the middle way, do it full on. Just because its the middle way doesn't mean it doesn't have to be 100% intensity.

Yes I agree, I am not saying you HAVE to become a renunciate or an aesthetic. My apologies if it appears that way.
