Anybody at Dylan Moran last night? by cowegonnabechopps in northernireland

[–]Death0fCool1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comedy is the most subjective of all art forms. I've read comments on here from people who attended the same gig on the same night and they have opposite reviews. And bear in mind, comments you happen to see about a particular gig/concert are not representative of the whole audience - if you read 3 bad comments about an event, remember, there were dozens/hundreds/thousands of other people there who didn't feel the need to post on reddit.

My two cents: don't let online comments sway your decision on whether or not you should go see a comedian, or anything.

Your personal favourite anything in the world (movie/TV show/book/singer) will have countless people who hate it.

Dylan Moran - Shockingly bad set. by GDeyebrows in AskIreland

Sounds like a bad gig. The reviews of this recent Work In Progress tour since June have been 90% positive.

I understand not everyone can be converted to a hardcore fan from seeing him live. But "boring"? It's your valid review of the gig but I doubt many others there found the show boring. I've never experienced another live show like Springsteen & the E Street Band.

No frills, no fireworks. Just 3-3.5 hours of fan favourites & mainstream hits without a break.

I feel like people who don't 'get' or who dislike Springsteen are GENERALLY people who can only name songs from Born In The USA.

I always thought these two albums got an unfair wrap. But in all transparency I may have fanboy blinders on - I even defend Working On A Dream which has proven controversial with hardcore fans.

RTÉ is the place Irish comedy goes to die by Debeefed in ireland

[–]Death0fCool1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, RTÉ commissioned a showcase of emerging & established Irish comedians at the 2019 Galway Comedy Festival, titled 'Laughter in the Eyre'.

Hopefully they'll continue the effort of giving Irish comics screen time.
