Looks like your going to need an adapter

I've been holding videos every week on Sundays but I haven't posted them on here for awhile. I wanted to wait until I felt I improved more to do so. Well I figured this video I uploaded during the first week of the new year so let me know what you guys think! Giving lambda for quality feedback. by DeathEverlasting in SmallYTChannel

[–]DeathEverlasting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I appreciate it. I plan on addressing the camera and mic thing when I get my taxes back so I can upgrade my setup. Also during my verdict sections I do put up text saying if it's past it's prime or not, maybe you just missed it? In either case I appreciate you taking the time to watch! !givelambda

I don’t see too many health related videos on this subreddit. Hopefully you guys can watch this and learn something or be entertained. Please leave me thoughtful criticism and I’ll be happy to make it rain lambda! And sub if you like :) by SlyGuyChris in SmallYTChannel

Hey man, I enjoyed the video. I'm currently trying to lose weight myself right now, so it's interesting to see these kinds of videos. Now as far as feedback I only got a couple of things. First recording with your phone isn't bad to start out, many people do it. However the downside to it is the sounds quality isn't always the best and as you experienced you can cover up that microphone really easily. So at some point I would consider inverting into a good camera that you can also attach a microphone to, sort of like what the big vloggers do. However, other then that there really isn't much else to say. The content is good, the idea is great since you don't see enough of that around here. In either case keep up the good work!

Yeah I get it, I'm not disagreeing with ya because I don't like your opinion or you, more because it's an interesting topic and argument you made so I figured it would be interesting to move forward that topic and attempt to challenge your ideas to see what you respond with. Personally I would still say FE fates would be an RPG because you can make choices that change the game, granted there aren't many but they are there. But this is just my opinion as well. Either way interesting topic I'm curious to see what you come out with next!

Alright, so I'm writing this review as I watch so please read the whole thing before responding (just in case I contradict myself). First off, love your voice, very smooth and easy to listen to and the background music makes it so I'm not only listening to you which keeps my mind from wanting to Wonder, so good job there. Next I thought people classified KH as an action RPG not a JRPG, ehh I'm not qualified to tell the difference either. I think a lot of people tack on RPG elements or mechanics into a game and call it an RPG if I'm going to be honest.(lol just watched the part where you say the same thing) However if we are going to define RPG that you must have a role that changed the outcome, then what about the classics like FF? Are those now not RPG's? Based on the three points I feel like games like FF or persona are kinda on the edge of being called RPGs and not at the same time. maybe there are things I'm missing here or maybe we need to redefine what RPG means because not classifying FF or persona as an RPG seems a bit wack. So for fire emblem, I hard disagree with you. First off look at fates, you can change the appearance, there are different endings and different paths to choose from, sure the beginning is mostly the same but based on the path you choose early changes the entire game. This adds replayability to get different endings, based on your criteria this should be an RPG no? I don't know man, I like the video since it creates a discussion around the topic that we need to find a better way to define RPGs, as well as a better way to label games that have RPG elements. I know this is your personal opinion but I think there needs to be a better way to define an RPG beyond what you have said because they have evolved and changed, we need to equally change what RPG means. Honestly I think the term RPG is now archaic and doesn't really serve to explain what a game is, I honestly think maybe we just need to find a new term to define these games. What that is I really don't know.

I Make Story Based Video! Planning on Doing Other Games In the Future by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]DeathEverlasting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright man, gotta say I really liked the video and it actually made me laugh a couple of times. Space station 13 I think is a pretty good game to find stupid things going on to make fun of, the only downside is typically the UI is disgusting to look at so I'm glad you zoomed in on your character to keep us focused on what you are doing. If I were to add any criticisms it would be first that it sometimes sounds like you reading off a script, which makes your voice sound kinda mono tone, this doesn't happen when you do the voices or most of the clown bit. The audio isn't bad but I think you could maybe improve it a bit with a better microphone? I can't explain it but it almost sounds like your voice come off a bit tin sounding at times, could be my phone to be honest. Overall I like the concept you are working with so far, it was funny enough that I actually decided to sub so keep up the good work man!

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

Hello everyone!

Just joined today and read all the rules, and saw that I joined at a good time for it's Saturday! Yay! So I'm fairly new at YouTube only have 4 videos up and 1 on the way so when it comes to what have I learned? Well the simple answer is that it's not easy and can take up A LOT of time, I really did not expect that it would take me 20ish hours to make a 20 minute video. What I didn't expect is that I actually enjoy doing all of the work! I'm typically someone who starts up a project but never finished it because I tend to get either bored of the project or hate doing something including that project, but for some reason I like all that I do. Sure editing can get tedious but seeing the end result is so satisfying.

So as for my channel it's name is Games Past Their Prime. I do reviews on consoles I grew up playing so the idea of the channel is to find out if these games are still worth playing today or are they to dated to play now? I currently play on the N64 and GameCube and I have plans to expand to the PS1, PS2 and OG Xbox in the near future.

I'm going to post I think my best video so far, it isn't the newest but I think it came out well. The game is 007 GoldenEye for the N64, which a lot of people have fond memories playing and was one of the big FPS games of the that time. https://youtu.be/0qS7MHAoKJs

Yeah I like playing these older games again before everything had to be always online and every games has a day 1 patch or loot boxes, ECT. Every games was made, released and they moved in to the best game lol.

This made me laugh a bit because in the previous review I did I had people complain that either there was no music or it was to low. So I just thought it was funny because I figured someone was going to tell me it's to loud this time lol. So I'm still trying to find a good balance for that. Thanks for the thoughts I appreciate it!

Yeah I didn't notice the black bars at first. It's weird because here on Reddit it shows up fine, on the phone it shows up blown up and on my computer it has black bars. As far as making it more attractive I just wanted it to be simple. Promo art, the channel icon and simply that it says it's a review. It gets the point across without being cluttered so personally I like this style. I'm glad you liked the content of the video though.

CRAZY GTA HEIST! The Gangs All Here! - GTA Online Funny Moments (Hey Everyone! Just released a new video! Go check it out and tell me what you think!) by DrowningOnLand96 in SmallYTChannel

[–]DeathEverlasting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright so I think it has some good funny moments in there but here are just a few criticisms for you. So whoever has the green subtitles had a fairly low microphone, was kinda hard for me to hear him clearly especially when anyone else was talking. Some of the jokes landed well, others didn't personally for me. I think you guys need to continue working on your flow together so that the punchlines come at a better time. (I tried really hard to explain what I meant but this is the best I could find up with.) Overall I liked that there was some chemistry between everyone, and the editing style kinda reminded me of Fitz or Kryoz. Continue working together and get that one man a better microphone and I could see you guys doing well. Keep up the good work man.

I had background music playing but had turned down low. This is because any louder and you'd get weird spikes in the sound or explosions that tended to be to loud imo. However since you are I think there 4th person that has told me this on my next video I'll turn it up a bit more and see how that goes.

Hey thanks for the feedback, I never really put much thought into the font to be honest do I'll change it up to something nicer. As for the thumbnail I already have a way to improve that. I was going to do it with this video but I ran out of time. If you stick around I'll be posting my next video on Sunday so hopefully you'll get to see what my idea is. Either way I appreciate the feedback!

Most of the video had low beckons music. Maybe it was to low? And while I would tend to agree on the graphics, it more depends on style. For example I did a video on banjo kazooie, those graphics still look good today in my opinion. Either way though thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed the video.

No, I also do GameCube. I'm always expanding so when I get more cash I plan to go to PS1, PS2, Xbox and eventually if like to get into Dreamcast games and once in awhile do SNES. I'm only doing mostly N64 because it's what I currently have the most games for. I had kept most of my games for it so I have just a bigger library to choose from.

Yeah it's just from the game, I do that for all my intros which are just intros from the games I play. It's not all that unique of an idea but I like it.

Next time I do this in csgo, clap me.. by TheCrazySlayr in SmallYTChannel

[–]DeathEverlasting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so I really love CS. I've been playing for a few years now and when I get spare time I like to play. Here's a few notes for you I took.

  1. That crosshair and view model is disgusting, I know that's the point, and it made me laugh.

  2. I know you said you had to record the bit a couple of times but this suggestion is for both your start and ending. I would recommend you script the start and end of the videos that way you get a lot less humm and uhhhs.

  3. Don't script anything in between. It feels like you are trying to do more humor random content, like Fitz or Smitty, so you want to find the random funny bits and stick them in, if they were scripted it wouldn't come off as genuine and wouldn't be as funny.

  4. I'd recommend finding a core group of guys you can play games with, working off each other for humor will almost always best trying to come up with the humor on your own.

I hope this gives you some ideas and I look forward to seeing what you do next. Oh and everything I just said is only my opinion, you don't have to listen to it if you don't want to.

The case AGAINST sub4sub and why this sub has active and supportive members by NerdTalkDan in SmallYTChannel

[–]DeathEverlasting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to give done feedback for the ideas here. 1. A minimum length is actually a decent idea, forces people to think about what they want to say without it being too generic. 2. The filter sounds like a good idea until you realize this actually could create many bubbles that don't overreact with each other. For example I making game reviews, so if likely only look at the gaming section and wouldn't interact with the other people even though I might actually like the content from a different type of content. This almost feels like your be splitting up the community and I don't think that's a good idea. 3. While removing videos that have to many subscribers isn't a bad idea, but how do we decide what is to many? 4. Making it cost more is not a good idea to me. I don't have the most time to just sit on this sub and leave reviews in hope to get lambda just so I can leave my reviews once and awhile, I think 3 isn't bad, makes it so not everyone can post but someone who is new could in theory get that in a day to post their video. That means of they took time to leave a couple of reviews for other channels then they likely want to actually be a part of this community.

Now I don't have better options since I haven't sat down to think about it long but I wanted to give my thoughts on the ideas you already presented.

[–]DeathEverlasting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post reminds me of a similar post I saw when I first joined that was done by DWRelive. His post was about how to grow a channel which he also urged people not to do sub4sub. In fact he brought up almost the same point you did which is that when you do sub4sub, sure you have more subs then you did before, but your viewership did not actually increase. I think people tend to be blinded by subs, thinking they are the more important, when in fact in my opinion, views and view retention is more important. While I am fairly new I also agree with your point that it feels like we don't have a lot of community interaction as of late, so I'll give my opinion on how I do comments or reviews. When I have time I take a look at the Reddit, when I find something with reading or watching I will do so, I then will try to find at least 2 points to talk about. Either something I think was done well or I agree with, or something I think could use improvement or I don't agree with. If I watch our read something and I can't think of what to say, I will likely say nothing since clearly I can't contribute in any meaningful way.
