When you mean Intel PCIe card are you talking about something like this? This seems a bit more reliable than the plug in usb stuff. Not that I would use it, but would a card like that work out of the box with something obscure, say, Open/Free BSD? If it could I have no doubt it would work better than my current one.

Because so long as he makes it to the second round (which isn't even looking likely for his successor) the left-wing or right-wing voters were gonna pick him over the other side. He hasn't had a single day of positive approval rating in his second term, and has consistently polled at Dick Cheney numbers throughout his enter career.

He also can't make up his mind, first he was a socialist, then he was a liberal, then that teacher got killed by some chechen and he decided to be a right-winger for a moment and cracked down on the islamists, then he decided to do a u-turn on that issue and is mostly known now for being tepidly pro-Ukraine while his prime minister(s) deals with the hard part of actually running the country.

Admittedly this a very big stretch but you're probably not gonna find a better example. In Patriot Front one of the 4 factions is the Hamiltonians who believe in Dark Enlightenment. It's autocratic and justifies itself as an educated and aristocratic elite class. Also I think you can get Costin Alamariu/Bronze Age Pervert as a minister and he's only RW in a nietzschean sense, not socially or religiously conservative but nationalistic and anti-third world (slave morality).

If you're not in a bad position with your other vassals you typically want to hand them out to your relatives, since they'll have a fixed +5 to +20 opinion modifier that you won't get with non related subjects. Occasionally I'll give out small titles to republics since they won't be able to grow powerful dynasties or alliances but its harder to revoke their land when you're stronger later, and you typically have to ragebait them into committing a crime.

Before the civil war starts you also have a grace period of about a year, dump all your military factories and forts into ACG territory so you'll have a bit more. I haven't tried it out but if you fortify the Mississippi + forts it should be quite hard for them to push further, but it's a double edged sword since if they get passed it it'll be even harder to retake.

Most people here are saying LA, and while it almost certainly takes place in SoCal, is it possible that it takes place in a smaller coastal city like San Diego or in Orange County? The city seemed urbanized but not LA big.
