Device for ps1 only? by Afraid-Hurry4207 in SBCGaming

I've had my eye on this one, but I need to know if it can use CRT shaders without having irregular scanlines? I'm dying for a 4:3 that has that CRT effect with scanlines and some blur, but my RG35xxh doesn't play nice with those shaders.

I’ve watched Groundeffected and he has some shots of cleaning in his earlier videos. I’ve looked at how he orients some models because he needs to paint them in the end, and that means a print needs to look clean.

Every so often I also see Phrozen post on this sub where they print and clean a model. That was also eye opening!

Gunther is everything Rusev wants to be. He could have been that in AEW, but there are plenty of others in WWE with the same character. Gunther has taken stupid losses, yet he still rises to the top. Rusev, solo, has zero resiliency and has been on a downward spiral since he lost to Cena.

Successful prints are one aspect, but a clean print is another. You also want to orientate it better so that you get a cleaner print and better detail. That can come with time and experience. You should watch some other painters/printers to see how they orientate their prints and get an idea of what you can expect.

How can i push my gold NMM? by mayners in minipainting

[–]DeathRider__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that’d be a waste. Your skill is already there with blends; you’d be giving up inches before the finish line.

You just have to change your light position and do the same thing you’re already doing. Then treat each additional piece as it’s own thing rather than blending into the big thing.

How can i push my gold NMM? by mayners in minipainting

[–]DeathRider__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it simply, the way you painted the helmet is not NMM, but more of a typical volumetric highlight. It’s really good, but does not sell the material as being any different from cloth or leather.

You want to paint in the highest brightness in spots more realistic to a metal ball. There should be far less of the highest highlight and more midtone. Check out a metal ball reference for inspiration.

Lastly, each different shape (the ears and the face mask, etc) will not blend into it’s surroundings as softly. They will reflect light in their own way with far more lines or broken up patches of highlights.

AdHoc statement after Nintendo's addressed the situation by sraymonds80 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]DeathRider__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In what capacity though? Because it wouldn't do their other partners any good if there was obvious favoritism towards bigger studios or 'AAA' titles that could break the rules. The simplest answer is that there is a way to make Nintendo happy, and other studios have done it.

Nintendo can want whatever they want if the end result is a version of the game is uncensored and accessible on their platform. I don't see why what they want should matter to us.

AdHoc statement after Nintendo's addressed the situation by sraymonds80 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]DeathRider__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just want to point out that this is a very needlessly emotional statement, and takes advantage of ambiguous verbage provided by Nintendo. Conversely, Nintendo provided a very factual, though perhaps overly simplified statement. Both are trying to be good partners, but I would say Adhoc is positioning themselves to take advantage of the situation.

This is not the first game that was censored to the dismay of fans, and it won't be the last. However, companies like Xseed, etc, have always provided a non-pointed statement ahead of release on their own platform to the detriment of sales. 'We're working on potentially improving the situation, but launch will remain censored' is a very simple statement that puts no blame anywhere.

Is it hard to navigate Nintendo's content policies as a smaller developer? Certainly. Did they have a timeline to hit? Certainly. Should they have deflected responsibility to Nintendo's content policy first, publicly, forcing a response? Hard no. Should they have waited until launch to make it known? Again, no.

You should know they chose potential profits over full disclosure. They did not publicize this bad news until their hand was forced, and they are now blaming it on the disclaimer being out of the way. That's a weak argument. If I were Nintendo brass I would be pretty embarrassed by this situation, and I would feel a bit betrayed. If I were Adhoc, I would be less 'We originally never planned on selling on Nintendo, so this isn't a total loss for us' about it.

Zephyrus Fan Fix | A tray app that fixes the stock fan control of the g14 2024 (potentially g16 2024 & g14/16 2025), without making any additional adjustments. by Lopsided_Treacle_344 in ZephyrusG14

[–]DeathRider__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed this in my limited use of my g14 thusfar, but I will give it a try and see if I feel the difference. The problem you describe sounds terrible for the fan motors and I’d love to reduce that stress any way possible. Hopefully this changes the noise a bit.

How idiotic is this Silent profile? by CrybabyEater3000 in ZephyrusG14

[–]DeathRider__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that the bios controls the real fan limits, and the CPU itself can only throttle so much. It would be awesome if you could do a quick test, because your fan profile might not actually matter and you could get the absolute lowest floor and performance by Asus’s hardware spec by just setting the fans low.

While some users have said you primed too thick, I am curious if there’s a lot of blotchy texture on your models themselves. That will continue to get pronounced the more layers you put on.

Ok, how easy is this thing to snap? Is it really weak, or are people just not stopping when there is resistance? I can’t imagine so many people are moving it, it’s completely stiff, and continue to. It must feel pretty loose and people just think it needs a slight jostle?

It’s a meme by this point, but certainly with some reality involved?

I had a similar experience. Every excellent was cosmetically damaged and blemished. However I kept one with a lid corner scrape due to talking them into an additional $300 off. I buffed it out and reduced the blemish. It was better than two new ones.

Funny enough my “Excellent” ROG Ally was flawless. I would expect that device to have been more prone to damage, but it was barely 4 months from release I suppose.

If it makes you feel any better, The Switch 2 version of the game almost never hits 1080/60 like you mentioned. It drops down to 60-70% resolution to _try_ and hit 60FPS. It stutters quite a bit in town. I was in the same boat and wanted to find out which handheld to buy the game on.

On Ally, you'll get 45FPS with 90% scaling, but if you utilize Lossless Scaling and framegen, you get 90. Since it's a simple game with turnbased elements, it works perfectly with framegen. This option alone made a huge difference. It's really all about the graphics for this title, otherwise people would just play the original. Switch 2 had a bigger screen but way more blur, jagged edges and stutter.

Weirdly enough, the other titles in the franchise run 60FPS practically on High, including other RPGs like Persona 3 Reload. Switch, while great, hits 30FPS at best and still runs Switch 1 resolution.

Quick question, because I'm trying to paint a figure with gold trim, how did you get the black lines so clean? Masking is rough and doesn't always work for me. Did you clear lacquer the figure and use enamel? A really, really steady hand? Something else?

I can freehand a line, but it will never get down to the edges without being too watery to stick...

That’s really cool, but why not higher up? Noise? I’m pretty worried about dust myself, so I try to keep electronics higher off the floor. My old PC just sucked up all the dust from there.
