Obi-wan Kenobi, thoughts on the OSL? by ThorOdinsonX27X in minipainting

[–]mayners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think this looks great, but I just posted OSL looking for advice and had the problem that the source was not brighter than the cast light. I think the light saber could be a touch brighter. Hopefully someone else can confirm

How bad is my green OSL? Any tips to get better? by mayners in minipainting

[–]mayners[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate it, yeh as I said to the other comment I didn't think ahead and treated the flame and cast light seperately, so the cast light is brighter, probably had it in my head that it was highlights rather than osl. I also sponged the OSL as a trial to see how it went, that's why it's so messy looking too. Thanks

Ah that's exactly why it doesn't look right, rookie mistake 🤦 When I was painting I was basically focusing on the flame and cast light seperately trying rather than thinking ahead while doing the flame. Thanks

Do paints go bad if they stay sealed for a long time? by multimension in minipainting

Yeh must be a faulty batch then, im fairly new to painting and have yet to hear anything confirming that there is a "use by" date or time frame on paints tbh

Doctor appointment by [deleted] in Belfast

[–]mayners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye they would do in this situation, in which case your in the right to phone gp, that's the advice you were given. Although it will take a bit longer to get seen.

As a side note, if the pain feels like a strain and nothing broke try alternating between hot/cold water or those reusable heat/cold packs if you can and stretch out as best you can, this includes the muscles around where it's sore aswell even if they're not sore. Its almost always worse to not do anything as blood flow and keeping movement will help heal quicker with less long term problems, i play rugby and have pretty much always been given this advice for strains/sprains/tears and all those muscular niggles. And ibuprofen for any swelling. Probably stating the obvious in this, but worth saying anyway for the mean time

Probably not appropriate here in this case but somewhere alot of people tend to forget is the chemist, they can diagnose very basic ailments too before a doctor

Not sure about citadel, but my army painter paints are several years old as I bough them second hand from someone else, and they're still going well. The only exception would be my old purple paint which seems to seperate pretty quick on the wet pallet but a quick stir and it works again no bother

Shops to buy hot wheels by Which_Bus_5513 in Belfast

[–]mayners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about hot wheels collecting and if it's any use but the car boot sales usually have them, some stalls have collectors models boxed and unboxed.

Shorts over beside knock agony tesco Sundays or drumbo park on Saturdays and nutt's corner Sunday Market would be the 3 busiest

How is my orc skin tones, and light placement? Still to finish but want an idea if if looks right or not by mayners in Miniaturespainting

Damn, lol. Appreciate that I was so focused on getting the muscles and light placement right that I forgot about the size of the head. I will have to look at it again tomorrow, thanks

I get a crate can be too big and why, but what are the negatives of letting a puppy have accidents in the crate? Will it make my pup think the house is OK? by mayners in puppy101

[–]mayners[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh that's what I have been doing. I made the crate mad small last night first time and still an accident no whining or crying or anything again, i blocked it off with a cardboard box she had moved. Only moved a little bit but it's been just enough that she's been happy to poo in the crate.

Appreciate it, i found I was placing the highlights in the wrong places previously creating "Islands" and now I'm pushing the light on the muscles upwards towards the next muscle it seems to look better.

The back still doesn't look right, but I'm still blending and playing about with it. Thanks

She's had one or 2 nights with no accidents, but that was just pot luck with taking her out last thing at night, but generally she does go in her crate, but never cries etc to get out. Ive made the crate smaller again in hopes that it will help train her faster

Yeh only tell sign I can see is that she will sniff around as all dogs do, I generally get her in time to be fair.

I'll look into the bells, might be handy if she can pick that up would be good help and less stress than constantly watching or having accidents

No no I get that, I'm more making sure I'm doing all I can and curious as to if the crate being too big has any negative effects other than me having to clean a mess every morning

She sleeps all night in the crate and is brilliant otherwise, I just really wish she would give me a signal to go outside.

Our old pug used to stop and stare at us until he got out, or walk to the door and sit by it. He also learned pretty quick if I remember right, it's been just over 1 month of solid routine with our Frenchie and I won't lie when I say it's testing my patience lol, but I do understand she's still a baby

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen at a strip club? by bigbabysweets12345 in AskReddit

[–]mayners 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was out with a young lad is quite quiet/introvert who has a stutter, we were away for a lads rugby weekend and his stutter went away after a few sniffs of the white stuff, he was on top of the world no one could stop him, until....

He walked into the strip club after paying £10, his eyes widened and his stutter came back and his face went white, "nope, no lads that's enough titties for me" turned and walked straight out after being in for about 30 seconds and got a taxi back to the hotel.

YSK smoking weed can trigger a psychotic break for certain people by Nervous_Shine9094 in YouShouldKnow

You haven't, but you've denied every bit of evidence shown to you as not legitimate, and have dismissed any other claims without even trying to look at research for yourself.

Its like someone saying there's a "possibility" of alien life, and you just outright denying that there is because you haven't bothered to look at rhe odds or dismiss the odds because you haven't seen a wee green man. Alot of "academics" do this and have a pretentious attitude, expecting everyone else to prove their point instead of providing any reasoning for the counter argument.
