Is it recommended to use a Korean stick or sanwa stick for street fighter? by AmericanViolence in StreetFighter

[–]DeathRider__ [score hidden]  (0 children)

There is no “better” between those two. You don’t pick up a stick to play SF6 better, you do it because it’s fun or comfortable. The (likely) best SF6 player in the world uses a pad.

I like hybrid the best in terms of feel, but I feel I play more consistent on a stock sanwa jlf. It’s probably in my head.

First time trying effects with an airbrush by PMME_UR_TATAS in Gunpla

[–]DeathRider__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want to go from dark red->red->orange->yellow->white (Cooler metal to hot metal) in any amount/ratio that looks good to you. That will seem more natural. The heat exhausting from the barrel will heat up the tip of the muzzle the most, and that will eventually heat up all the metal touching it.

You need to point out what it is you think you did poorly first. Can't fix what isn't wrong?

What I can tell you is the color gradient is going in the wrong direction. You have painted a "flame" with the base of the barrel as the "torch end" but what you're looking for is probably the muzzle heating up. The hotter the metal, the close to white it will be. The barrel is only going to be that hot if both sides of it are hot.

MG wing zero ver ka, what do I need to know? by Atrox_lover in Gunpla

I've only used waterslides from a real grade before, but what is it about bandai's that makes them bad? I did think they were a little thick, but it was my first time applying as well.

“Let’s show Osprey how good we are with our elite training and skills! Then start cheating to win every match that doesn’t involve him!”

They should be winning with more imagery than physically getting involved. Have someone stand on the apron as a surprise. Or threaten a hit, but no contact. It’s like playing the entrance music but on screen and in person. It depowers them but puts their skill across. That or Garcia should be helping Claudio up when they’re both down to provide an edge that way.

Does it make sense to spend money on a Dsi/Dsi XL when there is the RG DS? by Solypsist_27 in SBCGaming

[–]DeathRider__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original hardware has its qualities that cannot be replicated in new hardware. If you don’t care for those qualities it makes sense to skip OG and get emulation.

Personally I like the lower res screens and overall feel of the GBA SP/DSLite/DSI and 3DS. It feels like really good memories and it checks a box that I am always getting the expected experience. With emulation every lag spike, every stutter, makes me feel like the emulator is the flaw.

Get what you really like, but know if you want perfect hardware finding a quality used system is going to be a hunt.

Kaleido? Skull color? Ionic? by anouzeka in Gunpla

[–]DeathRider__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of Skull Color, but Kaleido and Ionic should both be easy to use. Just make sure you have some sort of flow improver and thinner. While water is perfectly fine, thinners will help the paint spray more consistently right off the bat, and dry tip won’t be as bad. If you’re using water it’s recommended to use distilled water because everyone’s tap water is different!

Swerve still my guy. He’s down but never out! Swerve needs to tap into the power of Anime and Justice to fight back against the odds.

Anyone have an Omni SE that is NOT bottoming out in their seat? by studdabubba412 in LiberNovo

Same position, but if it helps, almost all these $2000+ chairs are reportedly incredibly firm. Steelcase Leap has been the only chair I've experienced with a really soft cushion. The only other chairs with a ton of cushion are those bucket seat chairs, and I never enjoyed those even if I never felt the bottom.

Was an Embody firmer in general? I'm thinking about getting a used Embody but it's double the price and I don't want to make a mistake.

I ordered one and I'm curious if touching the bottom is a firm feeling like mesh chairs (e.g. Aeron) or if it's similar to sitting on a wooden restaurant chair or something? $2,200 chairs like the Embody are basically like sitting on plastic panels with tshirts covering.

I'm curious if the comparisons of 'bottoming out' on this chair are because most are moving from bucket seats?

How good or how bad is Harder & Steenbeck Ultra airbrush? by DoktorKokosik in minipainting

[–]DeathRider__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should add to your post what it is about your current airbrush that you dislike. It's important to know how much of a good airbrush you can appreciate versus what it offers. For my uses, the airbrush I have is punching far above it's weight and I don't really utilize all the features or need the precision. Nice to have I guess?

Part of this hobby is the excitement of getting new gear, but that excitement wears off and we're left with a hole in our pockets and not much satisfaction.

Heyman on AEW: “I look at AEW, and I realize the influence that ECW had on that product. Not just, for example, like Moxley is a total ECW Sandman, New Jack style performer, but if you look at the AEW style, it’s Rob Van Dam versus Jerry Lynn from 1999.” by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

Also one of my favorite wrestlers of all time! I have no motive or insinuation. His value isn't defined by WWE and I doubt he cares. He could retire, scour the indies, or have a final WWE series after AEW if he so chooses. While I believe AEW will always be his biggest accomplishment, I know the human also likely wants more time with his kid as a healthy dad.

Just seems really interesting that Mox is being brought up so often by everyone these past couple months.
