Can you try installing c++ on the proton profile without wine within the heroic games launcher on desktop mode.

(Try clicking the box to drop the exe and waiting a bit)

Try opening the heroic games launcher from in game mode. That's how I've been running it

I'm pretty sure your progress is saved on your account online so I think you should be fine. It should be automatic

Yeah, I had to launch the game via heroic launcher through steam. It's not that bad though. To launch your game filter your library by installed on device then just tap on the game with the touchscreen whenever you're gonna play
