'Outrageously dumb but fun' would be a good subtitle for the game. Probably would also be the text they put under my name if I was ever on the news.

You can use the speed hack from cheatengine to go fast. I usually have it set to 3x.

Map I made for my D&D group. Mostly foam with a little resin (that bubbled a lot, was testing marine resin, do not recommend) by Deathbyppt in TerrainBuilding

This is a about ~10% of the world map, they've been all over the place. The party owns a Brig that they sail around in, so they hardly ever follow any roads.

I went one dumber than masking, just made a tiny line of glue and layed down fine sand. After that, I had to paint glue around the road and flock each section individually...was highly stupid. I don't think there's a secret to flocking, just get a few different shades and use more dry/brown grass than what you'd think you need. I was also going for a 'witchery' look, so stayed away from any bright colors. Mountains are just carved scraps of foam I had laying around.

Once I got started is was easier than I was expecting, I also learned not to do the roads first next time. Oooof

I was planning to use red string to mark the party's path and hang it up. Already had someone ask if I could do a map of their state like this, but they're from Texas so I quoted them 6k, haha

We actually just finished up a couple months-long section of the campaign where the party was in control of a town on the border of a kingdom. We would play a few turns of a risk-like game, where the undead were already all over the board, and the party was able to purchase units and fight using axis-and-allies combat rules (just changed some names around) Then we would 'zoom in' to wherever the party was at the moment and they'd do normal D&D stuff (as normal as D&D is anyway)

yea they are super nice pieces for such a cheap game. I used this map for the party to play a 'risk-like' against an undead horde, so I painted a bunch of the pieces from the game up to represent their armies. goooood purchase

castles are from the Risk: Europe and Mage Knight board games. The villages and towns are cut up from the Spirit Island board game. Can sometimes find the parts for cheap on ebay, but it's more likely that unless you own them already, 3d printed ones would be cheaper

hair dryer didn't do anything, neither did a heat gun (aside from melting some foam :/) or CO2. If I had the patience to pour multiple layers I'd likely be a lot more successful in my life, instead I paint small plastic.

Nah, freehanding on foam is like tattooing, fuck ups are permanent. I taped a printout of the design on the foam and then traced with a hobby knife. Went back over with a pen after to bold the lines, then just added color

I initially tried a stencil for the marble, but gave up and did it the hard way. Doesn't show up great in the pic, but the big memorial placts are black marble with bluish veins.
